Jdun is back boys!!

Got back from Afghanistan a month back. Tried to keep up with the sport. Don't think I watched a live ppv since Randy retired. I've watched everything online and on demand. The biggest shocker for me was JDS beating Cain so quick. I think Cain is still the best fighter in the world, but he has to beat Junior to get that distinction. I am upset we aren't seeing Overeem vs JDS, I think Overeem is JDS' nightmare opponent.

Jon Jones is unbeatable right now. Henderson has no shot. Anyone else find it odd that the old team quest guys get better with age. Hendo, Chael, Randy. Hgh? Watch Henderson in Pride and watch him now, he's a different fighter. I thought him and Shogun put on the best fight in UFC history. It was a draw, Shogun won round 3, 10-8 no question. I wanted another round, unreal.

As much as I hate Chael, he is only getting better. He will end Andersons fantastic run.

GSP get healthy please! Rory MCDonald, wow dude is great! NH gotta be his best.

That's all I got for now, good to be back. RIP to all the fallen heroes out there and a personal RIP to SGT Dimarco

I laughed when I saw this thread because I was just wondering the other day about all of the old "regulars" that used to post here.

Glad to see you got back safe.

I actually think the welterweight division is more interesting without St. Pierre in the picture. Fights have actually been competitive and unpredictable. I fear once he comes back that it will just be like it used to be with an assembly line waiting to drop a decision to him. I'm sure I'm in the minority that has that mind set.

I agree about Sonnen. If he doesn't get too ahead of himself again, he will probably win a decision against Silva.

I'm not sure about Velasquez beating Dos Santos. Dos Santos is an excellent striker and is well balanced with speed and power, meaning he doesn't lack either. His take down defense and underrated ground game make him a complete fighter, and I don't see a bad match up for him in the heavyweight division. Of course their first fight left more to be desired. Who knows how a rematch will go if Velasquez doesn't get caught early. He's very persistent with his take downs if the stand up game isn't working for him.

Good to have you back! Always happy to see posters from my era still around.

good to see ya pal, I hear what your saying about GSP. But we will still have the new talent, but we will see GSP/Condit and some new challenges for him.

As for JDS, he is a tough matchup for Cain. But I think if Cain can push the pace and use his own solid strikes mixed with his takedowns he could cause him trouble. You don't think Overeem beats JDS? That Brock fight was sooooo predictable, that was even money too right?

Yeah, Condit/St. Pierre actually sounds interesting. Condit has that aggressive never say die style (usually) and I actually don't see him being tentative for 5 rounds like a lot of Georges' opponents. Also, who knows how Georges will perform after coming back.

JDS and Cain probably are the hardest match ups for each other. They are both just so well rounded and I could see them being 1 and 2 in the division for a while. I think the winner of their rematch is truly the best heavyweight today. I wanna see how Dos Santos works off his back against Velasquez so hopefully we see Cain get a take down. People keep hyping Junior's ground game up, but it's actual level is still a mystery. Cain's ground game speaks for itself. Him nearly merging Antonio Silva's face into the octagon mat is only one example. After their fight, I'd like to see Cormier give one of them a go after a few more fights.

I'd say Overeem technically has better stand up than Dos Santos, but he seems to be significantly slower in my opinion. That muscle mass won't help him against an agile fighter like Junior if he wants to stand. Overeem has been knocked out on more than one occasion so his chin isn't exactly granite, while Junior on the other hand, has hard and quick punches that are pretty accurate for the most part. That's what makes me lean toward Junior. I could be wrong, and it wouldn't surprise me if Overeem did beat him standing, he does have K1 level striking after all, but it's a theory of mine about the speed.

Yeah, that fight should have been a lock for most people. Brock was in over his head. I have to give him credit for stepping in there, though. The guy has been through a lot.

I just see GSP taking Condit down and pounding the shit out of him if he's healthy.

Overeem is just so big and uses leg kicks and knees and great clinch work. JDS has better hands and more KO one punch power. That fight will be epic.

And I just don't see what Silva can do different against Sonnen. Someone tell me, cuz I dunno.

I thought Frankie did enough to hold on to the belt.

Aldo is the best fighter 155 or under. He could hold both belts. He is top 3 p4p maybe #1.

I HATE Cruz, rooting for Faber to get that belt eventually.
