From Oregon, new to the boards.
Hello huys, im new to the boards here. Im from Oregon, raised here since i was 8. im 26 now. GO DUCKS.
i recently started MMA training at the local gym here in town. the owner is really nice and a great striker but he isnt the best at grappling. im a retired wrestler so of course im comfortable and confident on the ground. i really wanna fight but he keeps telling me that i should wait because i dont look ready. when i youtube vids of other fighters in the classes that id be fighting i KNOW i would beat them. Im just curious if i should commute to the other gym (more fighter oriented and more potential) or keep going here till i surpass the level of training offerd. the next closest gym is 49 mi one way. they will charge me 50 a month for unlimited access if im on the fight team as an amy fighter. this gym is 40 a mo and in town. like i said i really like the gym im at but i dont want my career in mma being held up any longer. im already 26. i can see huge improvment in my striking but i hardly ever get to improve my grappling. any way what do you guys think. thanx. |
