Adamm's Introduction: New Fan With Newfound Respect For MMA
Hello all. This is my first post. As a brief introduction, I've been a fan of WWE for the longest time. The colorful characters, the engrossing storylines and the constant supply of "fights" twice a week kept me hooked. I have watched occasional MMA fights in years past but never thought it was anything more than a circus side show. I remember the first video I saw involved a 500 lb. sumo guy stalking a much shorter individual around the ring before getting pummeled in the face and losing the fight.
MMA has come a long way, and I believe it will surpass both WWE and boxing in mainstream popularity, if this has not occurred already. I think what got me hooked were guys like Tito Ortiz, Chuck Liddell, Randy Couture, and especially Andre Arlovski. I think with a guy like Arlovski, you can truly see the future of MMA: guys with outstanding striking, outstanding submission skills, and ridiculous speed and agility.
One more thing to wind up this long winded post. I am impressed by the way that many UFC fighters conduct themselves. Randy Couture and Matt Hughes are champions who treat everyone with respect and show tremendous humility despite their outstanding skills. Anyway, I am looking to forward to some great UFC competition in the future.
