HI And reader beware
 
Hello. I'v been wanting to start fighting for a couple of years. I am 21, 6'3 and 190lbs have a reach of 75. I am finally taking it seriously now. I am going to start classes in my area that offer mma training and bjj. I was wondering how much it costs to enter a mma competition. Can anyone fight or is there other steps you have to take before you can get into a fight. Any info you guys could give me would be much appriciated. Now about myself I have always been competitive I have wrestled, raced bmx, lifted and pushed myself sense 16. Love physical sports and competition. I used to be all about free weights but now I found something better kettlebells. Have been doing them for 2 years and man what a difference in strenght,endurance,and explosiveness. If you dont know anything about them or havent tried them I highly recommend them. A good lifting buddy of mine had a basement full of equipment equivelent to a golds gym. He sold all of his equipement to buy a huge set of kettlebells. He got me started with them. I am now using a 70lb kettlebell. For those of you who dont know the conventional set goes from 35,55,70,90, and the beast 106lbs. The ones in kilos are a pound or so different in weight. There are some heavier than the 106lbs but you have to get those special ordered or made, because there are only a few people in the world who will or can use them. On youtube you can find some crazy videos of guys doing kettlebells. Thanks for anyone willing to talk to me and reading my long babbling post.

Entering a submission grappling or BJJ competition usually costs an entry fee. Anywhere from $25-200 usually. As far as MMA, you oughta be getting paid for that or it should be free. The gym you train at will normally set up your fights for you.

Check out the grappling and striking sections, they've got plenty of tips and techniques that will help you along your way.
