Going from 488lb Potato Chip Fighter to 200+ MMA fighter

Hey guys just joined this site was looking for a couple days and really liked it. I use to weigh 488lb and as of Monday I was down to 465lb. I have been in contact with a local MMA school and will be starting to train there. It is located in a GOLDS GYM type place.

The school encompasses many different disciplines including M.T., BJJ, Boxing, Wrestling and a strength and conditioning coach. I am very excited about starting I will be meeting with the S and C coach this coming week to evaluate where I should start. I am not sure but I will probably have to do almost all conditioning type work till I lose enough weight to start training effectively.

I have a diet set up and the workouts I have been doing till now I am going to start blogging and since I joined here I will probably do it here. I am 34 and have been fighting my weight for years now I am going to focus on getting in shape to fight one amateur MMA match.

I got this crazy idea after watching that MTV show made and thinking to myself if I could be made into something what would I want it to be? I have been doing some training with a friend till now some kickboxing and ground fighting. He studied both BJJ and M.T. at two different schools and has given me stuff to work on till I get to the School next week.

O.K. well thatís about it I am also an youtube geek so I may fill the process over the next couple of years and do something with that as well.

Brad

Hey man, congrats on making the first step and starting to do something. You really need to focus on your diet and focus on getting into shape man, the weight you are at is unhealthy and very unsafe. Check out the training section for some very helpful info man, cheers and welcome to the forum

Thanks everyone I appreciate all the support. I am working with the strength and conditioning coach and the weight is definatly priority #1. I am down a little over 20lbs right now but got a couple hundred to go.

Right Now this is what my diet looks like during the week Mon to Fri

From Fat Man 2 Fighter Meal Plan

Breakfast

Snack
1 scoop Body Fortress 100% Premium Whey Protein, 1 cup skim milk, 1 piece of fruit

Lunch
Dole Light Caesar Salad mix and 6oz chicken breast

Snack
1 scoop Body Fortress 100% Premium Whey Protein, 1 cup skim milk, 1 piece of fruit

Dinner
This meal will very in order to have variety in the Meal Plan
Example meal would look like.
8oz Shrimp ring/ Ĺ cup cocktail sauce, 1 cup veggies, sweet potato

Pre Workout
Body Fortress Creatine and Nos Supp
Post Workout

1 scoop Body Fortress 100% Whey Protein, 1 cup skim milk
1 serving of Body Fortress 100% Pure Glutamine Powder

Before Bed Snack

1 cup cottage cheese, 1tbsp peanut butter

Then Sat and Sun I eat whatever I want up to 3000 cals and with at least 200g of protein. I know that the coach might change it but thats what I have been doing for the last month or 5 weeks actually and 20lbs gone.

I lift 4 days a week and walk everyday prox 1 mile

You will definitely notice a difference when your able to up your distances. Someday those walks will turn into runs hopefully once your drop some more weight and its easier for your to do.
