Smile Hey everyone

Names John and was planning on making my MMA debut at XCC 62 Rampage in Romeo 2 until I tore my Rotator cuff sparing.

I'm a brawler with a wrestling background. I have zero MMA formal training and mainly have learned from sparing with my son's friends that fight. I'm just fighting to prove to myself that at 41, I can still hold my own.

Due to the hours that I work, 16 a day, I'm not able to work out at a true MMA gym so I hit the regular gym every morning for 2 hours working cardio mainly since I'm recovering from a torn bicep 8 weeks ago.

Looking forward to learning a lot from everyone and possibly finding someone who can mentor me. I live in Northern Oakland County Michigan in Oxford. With 2 teens and a stay at home wife/mom, I can't afford a true MMA gym.

Welcome to the forum.

You will learn a lot here about general MMA and, if you are interested in technique training or have questions, head on over to the MMA technique sections on the main page.

If you have any issues, feel free to ask the staff.

Thanks guys. I was supposed to fight this weekend but tore a rotator cuff during a sparing session. I'm trying to find time to get into a Dr to get a MRI done to verify it. I have a severe amount of pain in my right shoulder when trying to lay on my right side or trying to put my arm above my head. It was supposed to be my MMA debut but I pulled out on Wed due to this injury. I put a heating pad on it each night for 20 minutes and take vicidon throughout the day but after years of taking it for a lot of injuries, it's almost become like candy, doesn't do anything to me anymore for the pain.

At least I can still work on cardio since I know that's going to be a weak point for me.
