Hi guys, I am an amateur MMA fighter I train mostly in Muay Thai and BJJ, who after lurking in this forum for a while decided to make an account. I mostly came here to read messages and download K-1/UFC/Muay Thai videos, but now I felt that I wanted to post. Lets see, 2 of my favourite fighters is already noticeable (Buakaw por Pramuk and Georges "Rush" St-Pierre):) . But I have alot of other fighters I like and respect. Least Favourite Fighter? It would have to Shinya Aoki. While the guy is an excellent submission expert, I think he is overrated, his record is inflated, he whines alot and overall do not like him as a person, he seems like a douche and fights dirty. One instance is where Aoki was clearly biting his opponent and the referee was seeing it but he was letting it slide like they do with most Japanese fighters. But I do respect that his submission skills is at a very high level. Anyways thats enough banter, see you guys around.

I would like to say welcome even though I'm new too. So welcome. You're totally right about Aoki though. His recent fight was another example of his lack of sportsmanship. That ko was funny though.

Welcome! (I'm new as well). This is a great place to post... I'm really surprised I didn't join sooner.

Speaking of Buakaw por Pramuk, a few years back he came to Cambridge ON, CA and trained at Phady's Muay Thai with a few of my buddies. They were saying he's a damn humble guy and his physical abilities/speed were off the charts!

Congrats for him on his recent victory as well :thumb02:

Thanks for the welcomes. I was contemplating to either sign here or sign at sherdog. I am glad I signed here. I like how MMAforum is active, most of the guys are easy to talk to and are very knowledgeable about MMA and Martial Arts. And the opportunity to get K-1/MMA/Muay Thai discussions and multimedia. I didnt like how sherdog was huge that it was getting uncontrollable. It was very huge but it was riddled with lots of fighter fans/casual fans, trolls, and crazy people so alot of posts I was seeing were complete facepalm and it didnt fit my ideas and I would go insane by reading them. I found their Kickboxing forum very interesting and knowledgeable though, but its not worth it getting all the headaches in the other forums. This place has a good thing going. :thumb02:
