IFL has me impressed
The IFL has certainly added a new dimension to fighting. I just finished watching the preview for Monday, and I think they are doing a really good job at attracting new fans. The team concept is different and adds a new competitive aspect to the sport: the collective whole.
They also got hall of fame coaches with different styles and systems such as Renzo Gracie, Matt Linland, Ken and Frank Shamrock, Pat Militech(sp?), Don Frye(yeah!), and fcking Bas Rutten!.
Plus you get to root for your hometown. They are also thinking about adding more countries to compete. Awesome job IMO.
The only thing that I think it has against it was the fact that the hour long preview showed nothing but highlights from the fights. I think that when new "fans" watch the actual show on Monday, they will be dissapointed that the fights aren't as exciting (or as fast moving) as the highlights(duh). But that can be said with all sports.
