Basically, the IFL promoted the sport we all love like ****ing idiots last night. It's not often that I'll drop an F Bomb in an article, but these guys truly deserve to be called ****ing idiots. From the moment the show opened all they talked about was "my team is prepared to die in the ring" and Bone Crushing strikes, and they even had a promo that said "And someone will leave the ring ON A STRETCHER!" which was followed by a video of Ryan Schultz being loaded onto a stretcher. They showed this promo atleast 10 times during the event and it made the whole sport look like shit. This isn't the early days of the UFC and if a major fight promotion needs to market their product in that way to gain viewers, they shouldn't be involved with the sport.

With all the progress the UFC has made promoting the sport as a sport and gaining viewers by showing how talented these guys are, this was a huge step back. The IFL is trying to market our sport as if it were back in the days of UFC 1. I can't believe they pulled that shit on free TV and I can not wait for the IFL to fall flat on their faces. I have never in my life hoped for a mixed martial arts promotion to lose money and ultimately be forced to stop promoting shows, but if the IFL continues to portray our sport in that way, I sincerely hope they are forced to close up shop.

good points that does sound pretty ****in ridiculous, however it did make me wait to see who was on the stretcher... but yeah its a huge step back, team system sucks ass anyways

I like the team system, it's something different and new. I'm glad the commissioner had the guts to come out and apoligize for the show. Dana White(UFC) wouldn't have done it and Sakakurba(Pride) would have blamed it on something/someone else.

I notice a lot of people knocking the show and the IFL without giving it a chance.

I agree with everything you said. The team system is just a new way to look at MMA and helps bring in new fans. And no, contrary to the detractors opinions, it doesn't take away from the individual performances. The fighters still have to win their fights.

Despite the "someone is leaving on a stretcher" crap, the fights and event was solid. They've recognized they made a mistake with how they advertised it and are going to change.

Admitting mistakes isn't something that happens alot in other MMA org's.

Give the IFL time, they may succeed, they may not. But I really do enjoy watching their fights.

That guys is the ****ing idoit. If he ever watch a IFL show on FSN you would know that the IFL doesnt do that shit. The show was decent. To many promos and comercials. It was really heavly edited wich i didnt like. Give it time on the Battleground episodes. As for the FSN shows they are pretty good.
