IFL Grand Prix to air live on Canadian TV!!

- IFL GRAND PRIX TO AIR LIVE ON CANADIAN TV
Thursday, November 01, 2007 - by MMAWeekly.com

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The International Fight League and Alfred Haber Distribution on Wednesday announced that Fox Sports World Canada will air this Saturday’s “IFL World Grand Prix” live from the Sears Centre in Chicago. It will mark the first live national broadcast of mixed martial arts in Canada on broadcast television according to the IFL.

The two-hour Canadian broadcast is in addition to the previously announced one-hour broadcast live on MyNetworkTV in the United States.

The first hour of the event will air simultaneously on Fox Sports World Canada and MyNetworkTV. Bouts scheduled for the first hour include the light heavyweight title fight between Vladimir Matyushenko and Alex Schoenauer, a lightweight rematch between Chris Horodecki and Bart Palaszewski, and a middleweight bout matching Brent Beauparlant and Benji Radach.

“We are very excited that Fox Sports World Canada and CanWest MediaWorks will be taking two hours of our event live to Canada,” said IFL co-founder and CEO Gareb Shamus. “Combined with our MyNetworkTV coverage in the United States, this will give us the largest possible North American platform to showcase our great athletes live and in primetime on free television.

“Our goal for 2008 is to bring all of our events to the fans live on television, and this is the latest step in achieving that goal.”
