Aoki's Heart?

First off I am a fan of Aoki and his ability, but after rewatching Dream.1 and having to watch him sit there in his corner looking like he had no will to go back into the fight it raised some questions for me. So I looked at his past fights again and he has 2 wins from DQ (strike to the groin) and I was just wondering for those who have seen those fights, what took place? Did he say he could longer continue or what?

Ya I like Aoki too but I've wondered they same thing about him. It just seems like he gets hurt easily. Probably just cuz he's so dang skinny. lol. But I've never seen any of his DQ fights. Just noticed this from the DREAM fights. That was GZ though, and he's powerful as heck.

Kamikaze is now 5-0. Watch his most recent fight here.

Yea me and my friend always discuss how jacked JZ is at 155, but to me it just looked like Aoki right away was thinking "theres no way Im getting back in there" where as most fighters seem to have the attitude of "Lemme at em".

From another perspective: He almost got KO'd by him the second time and still managed to get out, then he continued to launch crazy sub after crazy sub! In one way, he's way more courageous than all the grapplers who don't dare to take chances with their subs!

He might have had a bit of bad luck against JZ...

Love it how a guy on "Inside MMA" said Aoki was looking ofor a way out the first time, in his next fight HE won via DQ due to elbows to the back o the head. I think it was "the Wildman". So don't bring too much bad karma on yourselves, allright

I haven't seen the Iwase fight, but I have seen the George Sotiropoulos fight. All Aoki did was attempt leg-lock after leg-lock in round 1. Seriously, George defended leg-locks all round long, that's it. Then, Aoki comes jumping out and gets blasted in the groin and, well, he stays on the ground. Fight over.

Aoki has heart, didn't he get his face broken by JZ in their second fight? He kept battling. Hell, he chose to fight JZ freakin' Calvancante, twice! And after JZ hit him in his face a bunch of times, he still ended up pretty much putting JZ in sub attempt after sub attempt.

Im not questioning his toughness, Ive seen him take some good shots, but it just seems like hes cried wolf a few times and its not something you expect to see outta a fighter.

he definitely has heart watch the second fight with JZ
JZ breaks his face haha they didnt even mention a bone they just said his whole face was broken
and he still came out with subs like crazy and ended up winning the fight

if thats not heart then i dont know what is

obviously we cant really tell about those groin shots though we have no idea how they could have effected him
but any man whose face is broken and ends up winning the fight and is still the AGRESSOR thats heart to me

Ok maybe Im jus being a little too hard on him, but he if he does have heart Id still like to consider him one helluva opportunist when the ref calls a stoppage.
