No domination by any means but props to the young fighter beating a vet like Hansen. My pick to win it all is Kawajiri.
Middleweights I like Jacare. Aoki still has to beat Nagata in 4 to advance.

No I actually have them in the order of Dida, BJ then Gomi.
And while it's kinda nuthuggery. Dida has rocked every opponent he's faced. He rocked Oumnkahov (sp), He rocked Takaya, He rocked Uno hard, He rocked JZ, and He rocked Eddie.
No one has been able to beat him standing it;s kinda scary. 5 fights in K-1 and all of them have been rocked at one point or another and if it wasn't for his TDD he might have beaten both JZ and Eddie.

Dida really needs to beef up, and work on his ground game more. He still looked green on the ground against Alvarez, but I think that's mainly because Eddie has great top-control.
I was shocked to see Eddie absolutely tool Joachim standing, I don't think I've seen anyone drop Joachim that many times before. Alvarez/Aoki could be very promising, and I may actually take Alvarez to win it if he keeps the fight standing, unlike JZ who fought kind of foolishly in the rematch (IMO).
What a great grand prix though, I love them because you get to see awesome match-ups in a short period of time, whereas in the UFC, we'd be waiting months upon months to see them.
I'm SO happy DREAM has emerged from the ashes of Pride.

I took The Crusher from the begining. (Cite "Trey Bennett" for proof. )
I also took Trigg. But when it turned out he wasn't in. I switched to Jacare.

Im picking Alvarez to win it all, his fight with Hansen was just awesome. I love the guy, if he goes in against Aoki with a good gameplan (Stand and KO his ass) he's gonna win. Lets just hope that he dosen't go to the ground with Aoki like JZ did.

Yeesh, the Alvarez bandwagon filled up fast. It's like Kharitonov's 04 GP performance, except not as cool.

I might have to re-watch that fight but Dida did not really out-strike Eddie. I thought it was pretty even.

I didn't say he outstruck him. Dida rocked him hard and if he didn't get takendown Alvarez even said he was out on his feet. Dida was winning the early part of the fight until he got takendown to often.
Dida was winning the fight striking and then when it got stood back up Alvarez started scoring points.

Yea i was about to post about how many nuthuggers there will be after the GP. Ever since i saw his first fight in Bodog against Aaron Riley, ive been a big fan of his and is finally getting some love. And you bring up Kharitonov when the hell is this guy going to fight again.

No clue, and that saddens me. He was rumored to take on Mighty Mo a little while back and that didn't happen. Then, he was rumored to take on Mirko, and that didn't happen. Now, nothing. I miss the guy and his paleness.
I think that, if Kawajiri & Alvarez do face, Kawajiri would win a decision. I don't think he'd let Alvarez do anything, and would just take him down and GnP him for 15 minutes.
