LOL! If Alvarez wins it all...
Well to be honest I really though Calvancante was going to win the whole GP with all his talent and hype.
But after last night I really believe that Alvarez is the sleeper to win all this. I remember watching him at ShoXc and really didn't give him a second thought, but now, given what he's done overseas, you can't count out the Philly guy.
The win over Hansen last night, from what I read, was complete domination and over a guy like Hansen that is really impressive.
If everything goes how I think it will, it should be Aoki and Alvarez for the Finals.
What are your thoughts on Alvarez, and can he win it all?

I picked him to win after JZ was eliminated. I think he could beat Aoki if he implements the same game plan as JZ did in the first fight against Aoki.
Besides, Aoki is out with an injury, no? Kawajiri would be a tough fight for Alvarez though, maybe even Uno. I haven't watched the fight, but Uno was apparently very game. I was very surprised that he beat Ishida.

No, he's a great fighter, but I don't think that he can reasonably win it all. I just don't think he'll beat Aoki, even if he does get to the finals.
Aoki and Jacare are still my picks to go all of the way in the Dream tournaments.

His fight with Hansen was a very good fight, although I wouldn't call it "complete domination". Hansen almost caught him in 3 or 4 subs, but man Alvarez was frikin fast and got out. He rocked Hansen a lot, but Hansen rocked him some too.
I was REALLY impressed by Alvarez and think he will win it all. Although, I didn't think Caol Uno would beat a top 10 LW, so there is a chance he could win lol

Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention this. I did watch the Uno vs. Ishida match, and I think that Caol's back. Even if he doesn't win the whole thing (and I don't really think anybody expects him to) he'll be a force in Japanese MMA again.

I picked Alvarez to win last night, as Joachim always seems to have some letdowns...but I think that'll be the last fight I pick him to win. I think any of the remaining participants can beat him.

Alvarez is going to win the tournament IMO. He is the best guy left in the stand up game by a lot IMO. His problems will be in the ground game but he has pretty good wrestling so I don't see Aoki or Uno getting him down.
Kawajiri could be a problem for him but I think Alvarez is good enough standing to beat him.
Honestly if he hadn't been facing Dida in the first round I would've picked him to do well because he has real good stand up and likes to brawl.
