Big welcome to Vitor "Shaolin Ribeiro, who will be training
with Prof. Almeida for his upcoming fight in Japan (K-1).
To MMA fans, you know VERY WELL who Shaolin is, as he has impressed and terrorized
the 155 lbs weight class in Japan. Shaolin holds an impressive MMA record of 19-2-0.
Vitor Ribeiro is most importantly a very accomplished grappler. He has won the
CBJJ Mundials (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Championship) four times (amazing),
once as a purple belt in 1996 and three times as a black belt in three consecutive years (1999, 2000, and 2001). He has competed in the ADCC World Championship in 2000 and 2003.
Above all else, he is an amazing guy who loves to train hard and has Jiu Jitsu as his true and #1 career passion!
Welcome, Shaolin!
It's far from official or anything but if he's training with Almedia for his next fight in K-1 I guess that means he will be making his Dream debut soon.
I'd like to see me some Uno/Ribeiro.. could be an exciting ground fight. Even Ishida/Ribeiro would be awesome.. or better yet, a rematch with Kawajiri?
No kidding.. now all we need is cross-promotion grand prixs between DREAM and the UFC (as well as EliteXC) and all our LW fantasies could be fulfilled.
