Re-Watched Gomi vs Nakakura.

Gomi's countering looked sharp, as did his boxing. Nakakura is no slouch, with solid wins over Endo and Hirota. Gomi countered the shit out of the guy and made him look bad.

That's the Gomi I know. That's the Gomi I love.

Discuss.

I really hope he signs with Strikeforce or the UFC sometime soon. I also thought he looked great against Nakakura and is probably on his way to making another run at the top. I would love to see him against BJ Penn again. Wasnt he supposed to fight Chris Horodecki awile ago? I wouldnt mind seeing that fight either.

Yeah, he was rumored to face Horodecki in sengoku in 2008. He would've torn Chris apart.

Strikeforce would be fun. Thomson vs Gomi and Melendez vs Gomi would both be great.

I think the Horodecki fight would be a good measuring stick to see how close he is to being ready for top competeition. If he was to tear him apart, then he would be ready for top level competition again. If he struggled with him then he might want to face one more mid level fighter before facing top guys again. I think a Thompson/Gomi fight would be the shizz. Thompson always brings it and Gomi has the ability to beat anyone.

I heard rumours that Gomi might be fighting at Affliction, or Strikeforce, if he lowers his asking price.

Question UFC/ PRIDE Unification?

Do you guys think there is still a chance that we could see a PRIDE versus UFC unification title bout or is Gomi so low that he has to work his way back up to gain a title shot?

at the moment no he is too low for a title fight but based on his past and name with a few wins in the ufc he could get it

Hopefully he doesn't (if he ever does) debut in the UFC like another Japanese Light Weight mentioning no names... Mishijima.

There are a few fun fights to see in Strikeforce if he does sign with them sometime in the future.
