We witnessed a star being born tonight.
With the focus always on what rising stars are in each division in the UFC, we saw a star born tonight in Dream that is exactly what the doctor ordered for them and MMA as a whole. A fighter like Zaromskis is exactly what a organization trying to make it needs, an exciting fighter, that has tremendous heart, that most importantly can be champ doing this. Wether it was Wanderlei Silva in Pride, or Chuck Liddell in the UFC, every organization has to have that exciting, fight finishing champion, that keeps people interested when he fights, and I believe Marius could be this guy for Dream. Im not saying Marius is Wand or Chuck, im saying he could be the spark that has people talking about Dream and making the company grow. I love Dream and am a huge Zaromskis fan after tonight, tonight was nothing but good for Dream and I cant wait for more.

Yeah I just checked through the results- was pretty shocked that Zaromskis was the one to take the tourney. I really thought it was be Sakurai-Galvao in the finals but it sounds like Zaromskis mowed through all of them. Can't wait to find the fights online and watch them. Sounds like my boy Aoki was displaying some stand-up in his fight- can't wait to check that out.

Cmon man dont overreact. Sakurai isnt a top flight WW. He isnt even top 15.
If this guy comes to the UFC he would get SMASHED by the UFC WW division.
GSP- Would ragdoll this dude and it would be ugly
Fitch- A solid 3 round beating from Fitch, wrestling wrestling, wrestling
Koscheck- Same as Fitch
Alves- Sorry but Thiago Alves is no Sakurai, he would overwhelm this dude with his brute size and power
Hughes- Wrestling and and a good top game beat a one dimensional striker everytime
Swick- Tall rangy striker with fast hands that is big for 170. He wins this fight pretty easily. And Swick got a nice groundgame.
Kampmann- Same as Swick
Condit- Same as Swick and Condit
Karo- Judo 101, Karo beats this dude down in a ragdoll display of judo
Trigg- Trigg beat Misaki with ease who is a very good MW striker and would have no trouble with a lay and pray victory.
Then you got tough guys like Haz,Hardy, and even a big strong scrapper like Marcus Davis that I think would all beat this guy.
Im not trying to say what he did wasnt impressive. He just didnt do it against a legit WW.
So by saying he is the next big thing, what do you mean? Top 10? Top 5? Could he beat GSP?
If you look at the guys I just mentioned and how they match up with him. I think you will see that calling him the next big thing is a bit of an overreaction. Send him to the OCtogon and the wolves of the WW division and, if he starts finishing sum of these guys with HK's ill be impressed.

Bit of an overeaction to call him the next big thing at this stage. Also an over reaction to list the entire UFC WW division and say how they would beat him. He's a young guy. I have seen him fight three times and he was damn impressive each time. You can't ask anymore then that at this stage. I mean of course GSP would beat him at this stage. That's hardly the point.
The guy pulled off a backflip stomp a few fights ago give him some props.
I do agree a star was born. Hopefully he will go on to get a bit of recognition in the same way Eddie Alvarez got big off the back of the LW tourney.
It will be interesting to see what his next move is because there aren't a ton of match up's in DREAM for him. Maybe if Affiction miracle a fourth card he could be on that. I will definately be excited for his next fight and in the future.

I'm actually very excited about Zaromskis. He seems kind of raw at this point in his career but he was very exciting at Dream 10 and winning the Gran Prix with a devastating head kick certainly earned the guy some respect.
Sure, he would probably get a lot of trouble in the UFC WW division but we don't know that yet. I like to think he could be very successful at his weight.

I could see this guy being in a copromoted card with Strikeforce against the winner of the Riggs versus Diaz fight!

Im not saying he could beat all those guys, although he could give a lot of them a hell of a fight. Im saying he is the super exciting champ that Dream needs to get major exposure everywhere. I dont know if he will ever be top 10 or 5 in the world, but people will want to see this guy fight. Just like back in the day when Wand started in Pride. In an MMA world where gameplans in fights are becoming more and more conservative(not that theirs anything wrong with that), MMA needs a guy like Wand was to Pride, a champ thats balls to the wall every fight trying to finish in spectacular fashion. Will he ever be anywhere near GSP, I dont know, will he be a star for Dream, yes.

I'm just glad we're talking somebody @ 170 outside the UFC besides Jake Sheilds. Hopefully Marius and Galvao get more big fight experience in DREAM before rolling with the legit top 10-15

We need more people to attempt to pass the guard by backflip.
