well i cant find the total list but the names you dont want included are... but CC.... 17 is a big number either way, no??

http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/sh....php?p=6937225

this site says "more then 25" but gives a short list

http://www.profighting-fans.com/arti...ew_020509.html

that site says 17 but gives no list....

either way CC it's quite a bit of success... but you know boxing, so many belts hehe bound to get a few... but he is a good trainer, i dont think he is the best trainer I think Nacho Beristain is and then maybe roach or Nazim Richardson is doing a fantastic job lately.

either way, im just saying Manny is definately his star fighter. he has never really had a fighter with that kind of natural ability before besides Toney imo but i think he is a fine trainer and has been for many years, he has lead alot of decent fighters up the rankings aswell, it's just not easy to train all world champions in boxing.

Case in point most ppl probably havent heard of Nacho or his fighters...Chiquita Gonzalez, Daniel Zaragoza , Marquez, Ricardo Lopez because boxing just isnt big on the radar for most ppl lately but that list is SUPER impressive but aside from Manny or Pretty boy any roster is gonna be filled with names the general public isnt that familar with like alot of the good fighters roach has trained.]

Anyways perhaps we just disagree, i always thought Freddie was a really good trainer, long before Manny was tearing up the world and even when Manny lost to Morales and ppl were down on both Manny and freddie.

No, I think Freddie is a good trainer, I guess what I am trying to say was that there are only a few he has led to the promise land, he def knows fighting i forget how many years he actually boxed but yeah, those 17 and the 1st link actually make my point, the 1st link talks about Amir Khan and Manny by name...thats it....

I agree its a good number or statistic to have 17 world champs want to work with you, he didn't make them champs again though but, as you pointed out, there has been a steady decline in boxing and the availability of GREAT trainer's....

Nacho is def one of them that doesn't get his due really IMO, and he got Oscar ready for Manny, there was no way Oscar was gonna win that fight and i would submit that if say....LOL Panama Lewis trained Manny for that fight, Manny still would have beaten Oscar....Im just saying its not all Freddie......

Manny could have been trained by other trainers and he would be pretty much as good as he is now IMO......I could be wrong....

Don't want to get off the boxing discussion but...

I'm not interested seeing a 4th match between Arlovski and Sylvia unless they really enforce the aggression points system they had in Pride. Either of these two vs Overeem could be a really fun fight. I don't think he'd duck these two so it's a real possibility. Plus if they start putting together open weight tournaments, things could get VERY interesting in Japan.

I agree with some on here. Not interested at all in a 4th match what so ever. send one to strike force and one to dream.
I liked both these fighters so i hope they both find some wins soon.

IMO you are wrong, Roach has worked with a bunch of top guys for many many years. Alizio is spot on the money here. Fighters can feel when they are advancing their skills with a certain trainer. Roach wouldn't get the business he gets if he wasn't making a huge impact on the fighters game. He also wouldn't get return business from the same fighters again and again.

The guy is simply amazing, I watched a documentary/short film on him last year, the guy really knows his shit. Personally I think he hasn't quite grasped the concept of MMA striking yet, but this is probably due to stubbornness attached with traditional boxing vs MMA.

Im one of those dudes that thinks there is rarely a reason for guys to fight each other four times. I have zero interest in watching Sylvia/Arlovski again. I would be very interested in seeing Syvia/Schilt though. For some reason, I just think that would be an awesome fight. Im sure Semmy would knock him out though. I would really like to see Arlovski fight Overeem as well. That would be a crazy fight, these guys both have great stand up, and if you look back through Overeems career, you will see that he doesnt exactly have the best chin in the world either, not as bad as Arlovski's, but he isnt particularly hard to KO either.

So your saying that Nacho Berinstain couldnt have trained Manny to what he is today.....if so....then you sir are wrong....

make sure you understand the subject, he never trained 17 fighters to titles, hell he trainned tyson for the freak show in Memphis.....

I know he has a lot of talent as a manager all the acclaim he has gotten from manny would have come to ny guy that trained him PERIOD....if you cant see natural talent when its there then you sir are the one who is wrong...

I like Freddie but the Mayweathers, berinstain, emaunuel lewis are all better trainers IMO....

If they has Manny he would be what he is today.....thats the point...

Sorry for the bad spelling in rush....

i 1st really heard of Roach because of James Toney not Pacman but either way i understand the point you are making but by the same point i think Freddie could have trainmed say Pretty Boy and he would still be on top aswell.

I hate to disagree with that but I do.....Period Mayweather has been trained since he was like 3 by Floyd 1st till Floyds wife had a boyfriend that was gonna shoot floyd Sr. so Sr. picked up junior and held him in fron of himself and told the boyfriend to shot him now....well the boyfriend shot Floyd Senior in the theigh basically ending his career....Floyd focused on Jr then till they had a dispute and Roger took over...point is Freddie doesnt work the same style or pace as the Mayweather's have trained Floyd, not saying Manny doesnt have those skills, but that Manny naturally has more talent IMO....

Thats why you see Floyd doing this blood testing crap...he knows Manny may be too fast for him...Roach didnt teach that speed....nor does Roach encourage as much head movement out of his fighters....

I dont dislike Freddie Roach at all....just sayin..
