NEW YORK, February 1, 2007 " A new television series,
“International Fight League’s Total Impact,” which follows the athletes, coaches and personalities of the International Fight League, the world’s first team-based professional mixed martial arts organization, heads this spring’s new lineup on MyNetworkTV. The program will air each Monday from 8-10 p.m. across the entire MyNetworkTV network, which reaches more than 95% of U.S. homes, beginning on March 12. This marks the first regularly-scheduled over-the-air broadcast of the sport of mixed martial arts.

In the IFL, 12 five man teams (10 based in the United States, one based in Toronto and one in Tokyo) each with a world champion coach, will vie over a nine month, 11 event season for the first-ever IFL Championship. IFL cameras will cover the stories of each of the athletes both in and out of the ring, bringing fans all of the event and behind the scenes action. Segments will take viewers up close during the competition and also into the locker rooms, training routines, and home lives of this diverse set of athletes who are a part of the world’s fastest growing professional and recreational sport.

Each program will be re-broadcasted on Saturdays from 8-10 p.m. local time in each market.

Sounds awesome, I have to find out if its on around here. Seeing as though I've never heard of MyNetwork, I kinda doubt it.

My Network TV was called UPN, until UPN merged with the WB and became the CW. It's network/broadcast television, this is the first time that any MMA organization will broadcast on network television. I can't wait til Monday night.

I know who can really complain though, we get to watch MMA every week for free. Should be interesting to see though how good some of these not so well known fighters are.

I am really excited about this and I am not trying to troll when I ask if anyone else is wondering how they will fair against WWE RAW for that last hour and/or Monday night football. I think the replay will make a lot of wrestling fans not mind missing it or football fans for that matter but does anyone else think it might be better to be on Tuesdays or Wednesdays? I figured here was the best place to ask.

It won't really run into those type of things though, since it goes from 7-9est. Things like football and stuff start after that, so the IFL should be fine playing at that time.

Any one watch this last night? I wsa 2 hours had i think 9 or 10 fights. Pretty good show. It showed i think it was fights from last year. It also showed new teams for the 08 season wich had Brazil in it and some others. The only thing i didnt like was they were promoting some one getting taken off in a strecher. It came on my network T.V. I was really impressed with a WW from Bas Ruttens team ill try to find his name.

Competeing with the E? HAHA they dont have anything to worry about. The true MMA fans will watch. Im quessing haveing it on another night will be better for you. Wrestling is going down and MMA is getting more PPV buys than the wreslting ones.

I saw it last night, the guy I think your talking about is Chris Hordecki aka the Polish Hammer. He is 19 years old and I think he is a lightweight. He's the only one on Bas's team that impressed me.

The guy I like is from Pat's team, Rory Markham(WW) has guy has some stone hands. The heavyweight from Pat's team, Ben Rothwell seems to be the dominate HW of any team.

Last nights show was just a recap of last year, hopefully the next show will have new fights. Overall I like the IFL, I'm on board the bandwagon.
