After getting KOd in his last fight the last thing he needed was another concussion. Taking this fight was a ridiculous decision and instead of building up to big names and improving gradually in the hope of not taking too much damage, he goes and fights one of the best heavyweights in the world and the now K1 HW champ.

Stupidity of the highest order. No money they would pay him was worth that KO.

I have gained serious respect for this kid. We all know Duffee got destroyed but, he admitted it and praised Overeem. He doesn't regret it doing it either. In my eyes, that's the word of a martial artist.
I hope Duffee comes back stronger and improves his game.

I kind've always had respect for him so this isn't new to me. If anything else it gives me more respect for him. Yeah, I hope he rebounds from this!

He is very loosely technically English I suppose, he was born in West Middlesex hospital Isleworth (London Borough of Hounslow) which is 5mins down the road from me.

Ethically he is half black Jamaican (father) and half white Dutch (mother), raised pretty much his whole life in Holland and all his skills and training have been aquired there.... he is much more of a Dutchman and certainly a Dutch fighter than he is English.

That being said I too enjoy the link, it's nice that he is 'from' my home town of Hounslow and I have been a fan of his since the days of Pride (first fight I watched him was against Chuck Liddell)

But you can't really claim him as English, after all Joe Calzaghe was technically born in Shepherds Bush/Hammersmith but he is very much a Welsh man, even an Italian before he would consider himself to be remotely English.

Ok, I guess he has english citizenship. Him being half and half isn't too much of a big deal I think. Just makes him unique!

He is undoubtably Dutch, sadly, as he would probably get alot more fanfare if he was English.

How would he get more fan fair if he was english? All the best kickboxers come out of the Netherlands. He is one of them!

Kick boxing is also a much bigger sport in Holland than here (probably the reason the have more top kickboxers while England has more top boxers than the Dutch as boxing is far bigger here)
