FEG is Dead, not JMMA

The problem that I noticed with DREAM was that they tried to rebuild PRIDE overnight. They didnt take its time to build up their fighters and ended up getting caught up in trying to keep their fighters in DREAM and paying them on time. Co-promoting with Strikeforce without all of their weight division well developed only showed that DREAM needed fighters from other Orgs to build themselves up instead of standing on their own like PRIDE did. They needed to make DREAM from 1997 Pride and not 2007 PRIDE.

Now Sengoku right is doing everything right in terms of starting over from the beginning and not trying to compete with the big legaues just yet.

This talk of JMMA being dead because of one Org not doing anything right is crazy talk. WVR, Deep, Pancrease and Shooto are well established Orgs with respectable divisions and put on alot of good cards over the years.

To sum it all up, DREAM rushed everything in hope of regaining PRIDE's success and it has cost them in the long run. But the entire MMA scence completely diminishing in Japan is a loss for everyone and there shouldn't be people hoping for it, but instead preventing it.

May JMMA live long!!!

While I agree with your point that DREAM went about it all the wrong way this is still a major blow to JMMA, they essentially dont have a big league org anymore and brands like Sengoku, DEEP, Pancrase and Shooto are essentially regional promotions...I will absolutely continue to watch but once some of these regional fighters are ready to get the big contracts guess where there goin...

No, JMMA is not dead and will not die for many years, if ever... But as the poster above me mentioned, this is a big blow to the legitimacy of JMMA, DREAM is the only org that has been able to pull big names from USA and Brazil and it will take a while before we see a new Japanese player on that level...

Still, how can you not love Deep and Shooto? :)

I don't think Japanese MMA will ever die. However, if things continue on their current course, I can see the UFC eventually returning to Japan and all the Japanese fighters in Shooto, Pancrease and Deep going to the UFC. Either that or Dream will somehow come out of this, or it will die and Sengoku will come out as the major Japanese promotion!

This is because he masks it with a show of confidence.:praise01:

Who masks it with a show of confidence? You have to be specific dude. This is the second post you've made that doesn't make sense!

Scrub what? Dude why are you talking about cats? This doesn't make sense!

Man, I have been a big fan of the japanese MMA game.
back to the glorious PRIDE days and therefore I would be devastated if JMMA would "die".

I was entertained by the DREAM events, but I absolutely agree that they made big time mistakes and also were extremely unlucky.(DREAM vs Strikeforce, Saku's losses)

I would really like to have a counterpart to the UFC, expecially in Japan. I do not think that this would be bad for the game.

I do understand the guys also that are arguing that it is best to have all the great fighters in one league, but unfortunately that is an illusion in my book.

Sometimes the fighters might not get along with management and get a release or they lost 2 or 3 fights and were given the pink slip.

Especially for the talent I think it is good to at least have ONE real competition to the UFC so that they have options.

Strikeforce is something, that's true but personally (and this is only due to my feelings) I'd rather have a strong competition overseas.

Let's all hope for the best that FMG will survive...if not for DREAM, at least for the honorable K-1!!

Yeah, my introduction to MMA was back with the PRIDE Fighting Championships. That is why I was a big fan of PRIDE. It was a sad day for me when PRIDE was closed and merged with the UFC!
