Is Dream the new great white hope in a Zuffa run sport?

With Segoku pretty much dead and Strikeforce being bought out by the UFC is the survival of a shaky Dream promotion the last hope for a legit alternative to the UFC? Is the UFC gobbling up the dying Japanese mma scene inevitable?

I doubt DREAM will be able to pay its fighters enough money to present a real alternative to ZUFFA MMA.

Don't Dream and Strikeforce still have a pretty strong relationship?

Look for them to become UFC Japan.

Is there no hope for M-1 ??
Or, anyone else out there trying in Europe or Asia?

Naah, i don't see Dream doing good against these guy's. They are troubling as it is. Yesterday's date is going to become a very important date in MMA history IMO. The day when Zuffa pretty much got a god status amongst MMA and nobody is going to compete with them ever again.

i dunno about becomming UFC Japan... but something close maybe... but hard to say since UFC wont co-promote. I can see UFC trying to buy up the libraries and intellectual property of SRC and Dream (which hopefully gives FEG the money to keep K-1 around), and try and use those as inroads... but Japan is very hard to crack being an American company.

as for M-1, i see no hope for them, they pretty much have Fedor and thats it... they probably do have the Russian Mob behind them (alledgedly), that could keep the UFC out of Russia (like the yakuza and Japan), but no i dont expect M-1 to ammount to anything

As far as I know, DREAM still has to pay fighters for past bouts. One of them is Overeem.

So currently, DREAM can't even pay past events, how can they put on decent new shows that can rival Zuffa shows?

I just don't see how. HOPE yeah.

Not even sure if we will see another DREAM event. FEG still has no proper sponsor. Maybe now something will happen. I hope it.

FEG owes millions of dollars to DSE. They can't pay their fighters. Their investment deal with PUJI capital fell through. Their television ratings are falling hard.

If they're going to survive, it's deus ex machina time.

In our dipsh*t german media (as far as MMA coverage goes), they ALWAYS refer to mixed martial arts as "Ultimate Fighting".

So yeah these people do exist already.
I try my best to spread the word. One at a time ey:o
