Thoughts on Dida's fight
http://www.dailymotion.com/search/an...didaa992_sport
Here's the fight.
Now I'm no K-1 expert and I don't pretend to be but I thought he threw some great punches in this fight. He wasn't overagressive which allowed him to barely get hit.
His knockdown punches were hard and fast not just looping uppercuts(Plazz).
Especially the second one which If someone can make a gif av of it for me they would be looking at like 25,000 points.
So since I know a lot of you guys in here know way more about K-1 than I do I was looking for your opinions?
Is this something Dida could actually compete in or is it just good training for his MMA career to improve his stand up?

Well, I gave Dida about a 0% chance in this fight so I stand corrected bbjd.
I think that Mork came in overly aggressive and didn't give Dida ANY respect which led to this result. My opinion of Dida is still that he would not be able to compete at a high level in K-1 but his power could win him some fights.
I think that Dida lacks the crisp kicks and ability to throw kick/punch combos like the top guys in K-1 which will be hard to overcome. His punching didn't look too bad this weekend but we diddn't really get to see much of it. I would be interested in seeing some more of him and then I would be able to critique his skills better.
Like I said before though, Dida made all of us in here eat humble pie so what do we know. haha

I totally forgot about this fight.
My god that was badass, total schooling. Didas power looked great, that flying knee and the final uppercut were awesome.

At this point I don't see Dida competing with the top guys in K-1, they are just too skilled. Mork wasn't really himself in that fight I would like to see this fight again after Mork gets used to being back in there.
On that note, Dida did look good and threw good strikes. He was still a little wild and looped some punches which would get him in trouble with the top guys. But when his striking was clean it was dangerous. All three knockdowns came off of somre really nice striking and not him just throwing wildly.

Yea I didn't see Dida being the next top guy in K-1 honestly with his power he can KO almost anyone his size.
The most impressive part of the fight to me was the second knockdown not just because of the sick hook he threw but because he ducked a punch beautifully and countered with a hook. Usually Dida would eat a punch and then throw like in the JZ and Alvarez fights. But if he's ducking punches an countering with how hard he hits it's going to be lights out for people.

Dida is interesting in that he could be good in K-1 if he cleaned up his striking. Again that wasn't the usual Mork, I think his last fight before this was in 06, but it was a good win for Dida.
Biggest problem I would see Dida having (besides wild striking at times) is how well does he handle leg kicks? He has the power but a lot of guys in Max have really good leg kicks that could take Dida's power away. So I would need to see how well he does taking kicks, checking them and if he can fight a smart fight and not just rely on his power to get him the win.

That's very true I've never seen him take world class leg kicks. I hope he actuallymoves back to MMA thought because his power with 5 oz gloves is dangerous.

I would like to see him have at least one more fight in K-1 because now he has some better opponents to face after this round of the tournament. There are a couple guys that he could fight now that would show where he stands and show how he has improved.
