Dida leaving Chute Boxe

http://www.tatame.com/2007/11/28/Dida-out-of-Chute-Boxe

This is some real sad news. Well at least Dida didn't leave disgruntled. Hopefully this means Dida can go work at Extreme Couture with Wandy for a while.

But I felt like he stil had a lot to learn at Chute Boxe and him leaving isn't a great decision. But the guy is young and heavy handed he will be fine.

I'm going to go cry myself to sleep since this news has really stopped my MMA high with Swick fighting, Aoki vs JZ, and UFC 79 coming up but this news is sad at least to me.

Geez, so many people are leaving Chute Box. I guess its for the better, they can finally break away from, the relatively uni-dimensional style of Chute Box and go else where.

Chute Box makes effective strikers, but they need to really pick it up and expand their styles.

That sucks Dida is a great fighter. I think Chute Boxe is a great camp I don't know why anyone would want to leave. But Randys camp makes most of the others look pretty bad

I'm starting to think that Chute Boxe guys who show up with a strong ground game are the one's who are going to have most success in the new more competitive MMA.

I mean Thiago started training in MMA 2 years ago after being a black belt in BJJ and look at him now.

Werdum showed up with the best ground game at 205+ and We will see how quickly he picks up Chute Boxe's attacking Muay Thai.

Some guys like Wanderlei, Ninja, and Shogun should branch out and become more techinical strikers like Anderson has.

BTW anyone who thinks Chute Boxe is going down the drain they still have Shogun, Ninja, Werdum, Thiago, Azeredo, Fabio Silva, Jean Silva, and a bunch of young prospects including Shogun, and Ninja's little brother.

It appears as though you either have a sick ground game, or a sick stand-up when your with Chute Box, not usually both.

Very true but Thiago seems to be picking up stand up well and He's only been training at Chute Boxe for 2 years.

I understand what you are saying but it seems they have started to form more well rounded fighters when you look at Thiago who is the newest kid out of Chute Boxe.

Thats true about Thiago, he seems to be a new breed. However, its unfortunate that Chute Box isnt known for their well-roundedness. Plus, with the older generation, the striking was very sloppy, Wandy, Shogun, Ninja, but still it was very effective.

They have a strange way of brining up fighters, that on paper wouldnt look good. But damn, Id say they have some of the most effective fighters.

Chute Boxe has never produced well rounded fighters and I don't see them starting anytime soon. I'm really hoping Shogun leaves soon. Chute Boxe has done about all they can for guys like Dida, Wanderlei, and Shogun and its good to see some of them starting to head in different directions.

I actually like Werdum going over to Chute Boxe to see if he can develop some standup and aggressiveness.

I think this is good news for Dida.

I don't think Dida has gotten all they can get from Chute Boxe yet. I mean his Muay Thai is sick but he needs work on his BJJ bad and starting his own gym up in Canada isn't going to improve his BJJ IMO.

His Stand up however is sick and honestly in that regard he doesn't need Chute Boxe anymore.

Yeah but Dida can go a lot of different routes for his BJJ, staying at Chute Boxe wasn't his only option. But I agree opening a new gym won't help.
