Kid to Fight Yahya on NYE: Dynamite!
Taken from Sh*tdog.com:
Quote:
Fight Entertainment Group, the parent company of K-1 and HERO'S, has officially added another star to its Dec. 31 K-1 Premium 2007 Dynamite!! card at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka.
Japanese superstar Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto (Pictures) will square off with grappling-turned-MMA stalwart Rani Yahya (Pictures), FEG announced Thursday at a news conference in Tokyo.
FEG President Sadaharu Tanigawa thanked World Extreme Cagefighting executive Scott Adams for allowing the promotion to book Yahya, who is still under contract with the Zuffa-owned WEC.
Following an unsuccessful bid to qualify for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games in freestyle wrestling, Yamamoto returned to MMA action in September. Fighting at a 139-pound catchweight against BJJ world champion Bibiano Fernandes (Pictures), Yamamoto took a tougher-than-expected unanimous decision after three rounds.
The 23-year-old Yahya also saw action in September, when he cut to 135 pounds to face WEC champion Chase Beebe (Pictures). Although the ADCC 2007 champion was a pre-fight favorite and was dominant through the first round, Yahya faded and dropped a unanimous decision in a 25-minute ground battle.
FEG did not announce a contract weight for the bout, but it is anticipated that the fight will be contested at 143 pounds.

I'm liking that the WEC is willing to let their fighters fight in other organizations, although this probably won't translate into the UFC doing the same. As for the match, KID should be able to take it, and I'm just excited to see him fight again.

Damn Kev, your bringin in some HOT news!
Geez, December is the month for MMA, in fact, these next couple of months are filled with mouth-watering cards.
I have a feeling KID can out muscle Rani, or just take him out standing. Should be great though, its good to see KID back in action

I like this fight, as Rani can actually pose problems for Kid, if the fight hits the ground, of course. It's going to be hard to take Kid down, especially the way Yahya does it. Kid should be able to avoid the TD, and pound Rani.

I like this fight because Kid is going to have to be smart. Taking Rani down would be the dumbest thing he could do.
If it stays standing Rani will get wrecked. On the ground even if Kid is on top this is close.
This fight should be a big deal in Japan to since they love Kid and Rani is disliked since he is close with Rickson Gracie.

Hell yes Kid should win this. He just fought a BJJ world champion in Bibiano Fernandes and was escaping his submissions like they were nothing. I see (hope) this is a nice KO victory for Nori. Can't wait to see this shit.
