Rumor: K-1 HERO'S/Former PRIDE Employees to Join Forces for 'DREAMS'

This is only rumor for now, but a few Japanese sources are reporting that K-1 will scrap their HERO'S MMA event for a new event called "DREAMS". DREAMS will use the same production company as PRIDE/Yarennoka, and use K-1's TV deal. This could lead to something great. Stay tuned.

New Event name is"DREAMS"!

K-1(FEG)have right of TV broadcasting income

DSE's new company have a right of house gate income

MAEDA Akira will leave HERO'S....("HERO'S" will be finished, change to DREAMS)

Is it scoop? or rumor?

Wow Baka, do you live in Japan or something, cause you always have hot news regarding Jap MMA.

This is probably the best thing to come out of a once hopeless Jap MMA scene since the announcment of Yarennoka. This will be BIG, flashy and exciting as hell.

Hero's had a decent roster, and so did Yarennoka, combined it should be a BIG big hit.

BP man, were gonna be up every freakin month now!...

Plus, that M-1 are close with FEG and DSE, so we might see some cross-promotion.

I hope to god this happens because we really need variety back in MMA.

I wouldn't mind losing a night of sleep a little more often.

Also, I agree about the variety comment. Man, UFC, WEC, EliteXC...all thats good and everything, but its a combo of all the fighters we discuss everyday and have seen all their fights. I wanna see all the former PRIDE dudes who fell by the wayside. I wanna see the best HERO's has to offer fight 4 times a year, not just once on NYE.

I'm starting to get tired of this period where MMA = an American sport only.

True say my good friend. I also don't mean to be a loyalist or a hater, but I'm slowly getting tired of American MMA. Believe me I love it, theres absolutely nothing wrong with it, it's just I've seen it soo much and a freak show or a spectacle wouldn't be bad once in a while.

Jap MMA really put the fun in MMA.

The PBP and Discussion threads killed, they were great and it wouldn't be bad doing them from now on.

No I reside in the U.S. I just love Japanese MMA. I keep up by checking various Japanese MMA websites and blogs. I watch most of the fights on the net as well. Shooto, DEEP, K-1 HERO'S, Pancrase, and GCM are some of my favorites.

^If this DREAMS thing happens, we could see Gomi go there. He's also being heavily pursued by World Victory Road. I don't know if you are familiar with World Victory Road, but they are an upstart promotion in Japan. They are having an event in March called SENGOKU, which will feature former PRIDE fighters Hidehiko Yoshida, Kazuo Misaki, Phil Baroni, Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos, Makoto Takimoto, and Sanae Kikuta:
