Hong Man Choi has had an operation for his brain tumor today. Let's hope he makes a full and speedy recovery.

***Update***
FightOpinion has found an article in Nikkan Sports saying that the surgery was successful, not only that he has been excempt from the military service and is due to return to the ring 9/27.
Good to see everything went ok.

Getting the tumor removed should actually improve his health beyond the eyesight problems he was having. He is going to finally stop growing. Choi is already so big that I'm sure he will have horrible problems with his joints and bones later in life and his heart is probably already damaged but at least he is stopping the progression.

I hope that the surgery is a success and the doctors are able to get the entire tumor or he could need further surgeries.

The surgery was without complications. They could take the tumor out by his nose and it wasn´t necessary to open the head. So his time to recover should be not longer than 1-2 months. Maybe he will fight in September again, but some doctors say he should rest for a year because such operations can have some side effects. They say operation could also change his personallity because it effects how hormone works in his body
