tbh i dont think mma could be done at the olympics well, id much rather have bjj and MT seperate

MMA would be cool in the Olympics but I think they would have alot of problems settling on the rules and judging criteria. MMA is probably the worst when it comes to set criteria as every organization under the sun uses different sets. I just think that with all the traditional martial arts out there that can't make it into the Olympics it will be very hard for MMA to ever break through. As of now not even all of the primary disciplines used in MMA are Olympic sports ( only boxing/wrestling ). Maybe someday after we see muay thai and BJJ establish themselves as Olympic sports there could be talk of MMA but I just don't see it happening.

That's really cool. I wish we had that here. It would make school so much more interesting plus like BloodJunkie said, how cool would it be to be able to say I have a PhD in @ass kicking.

I just thought about this, if Muay Thai was allowed in the olympics would they make them wear headgear like they do in boxing? It would kind of suck if they did.

I don't think they could. It would just be stupid and would take away some of the important strikes used in muay thai, like elbows. They would become useless because the headgear would block them.

yeah that was my point when i said it could be severely gimped, also whether they allow elbows, as in jr competition in aus there not allowed
