Cro Cop plans K-1 return

Cro Cop plans K-1 return

[The below excerpt is from a interview with Cro Crop in Croatia. It has been translated by Robert at Betwwx, who says it has not been published anywhere else.]

Possible return to K1

"K1 is my first love. I'll definitely go back one day. Even if its for one off fights only. I had plans to participate at the GP finals on 6 December but my knee injury made that impossible. However next year I'll have at least on big K1 fight. "

Sparring

[Cro Cop often trains with Vos Gym] I spare with Remy Bonjasky. Some times he has the upper hand in training sometimes I do. It depends on the day.

Peter Aerts

"I'm really glad Peter Aerts defeated Semmy Schilt. Not because I dont like Schilt but because people had written off Aerts as too old in the past.
I hope he wins the K-1 World GP. I'm happy for him"
I would prefer this to him doing mma.

Cro Cop's standup as been really weak though, so it would probably be worse for him to go to K-1 than to stay in MMA. At least in MMA his striking still may be better than some peoples. In K-1 it's going to be hard for him to win based on his recent performances.

Fedor fights I want to see..

Fedor vs. Josh Barnett
Fedor vs. Randy Couture
Fedor vs. Tim Sylvia - DEMOLISHED
Fedor vs. Andrei Arlovski - DEMOLISHED

hmmmmm, i wonder how many become reality..

There are plenty of good fights for him there and if he ever gets healthy again they would be fun to watch him in. Plus he gets back into a ring instead of the cage.

Well from what I can see lately, Cro Cop is a changed fighter, so I would say the fights wouldn't be competitive. If he got back to how he was then yeah, sure.

We just saw Cro Cop in a ring, and his performance was just as bad as when he was in the cage.

He could have good fights against, Remy (not gonna happen), Karaev, Teixiera, Le Banner, Saki, Slowinski, Feitosa, Samedov, Musashi, Sawayashiki, Chalid, even Sefo or Hunt.

Only guys I don't see him doing well against would be Semmy, Aerts, Hari, Zimmerman, and Spong if he got a shot at Cro Cop.

Fair enough, it just seems to me that he has deteriorated so much as a striker. The straight left he threw at Alistair was ugly. He just seems so much slower while fighting and while moving round the ring, when compared with what he used to be like.

And Cro Cop is my favourite fighter in MMA/K-1/Combat sports period. So it saddens me to say that.

I would love for you to be right.

Would be fun but he's going no where with that bum knee of his. If he can't get it to 100%, he'll never be the same fighter.

Exactly plazz, his troubles striking have been because of that damn knee. He actually takes the time out and has surgery to fix it I could see him getting back near where his striking was. At least good enough to compete with most guys in K-1.

Hopefully he kills Teixeira

But first things first, he needs to get rid of those stupid boardies, they make him look so pudgy and out of shape.
