Fields Dynamite FEG executive Sadaharu Tanigawa officially announced that the bout had been delayed at a press conference earlier this week.

“Alistair is begging for this fight but this fight will not go ahead on NY eve at Fields Dynamite,” said Tanigawa, according to Free Fight Videos. “We will look to mach them up on a different card.”

Their first matchup ended in a no contest after Overeem repeatedly kneed Cro Cop in the groin. Filipovic is just 1-2-1 in his last four bouts while Overeem is undefeated in five-straight.

CroCop came to his senses and realized he needs to go back to fighting K-1 or retire. I love Mirko but he would've been beaten by Overeem. I am emotionally exhausted waiting for the "old Mirko" to show up.

Honestly, if you had told me 2 years ago that Mirko couldn't beat Alistair freakin Overeem, I would have laughed pretty hard.

I'm kinda relieved cause I had a gut feeling that Alistair was gonna take to him again. Hopefully this fight get rescheduled for Spring or Mirko finds another opponent before he faces Overeem again, he needs the confident back and that killer drive he once had in PRIDE. He needs to be Cro Cop again.

I remember him during his prime in most of his interviews, and sounded like the most hungry dude out there for that claim to greatness. I hope he finds the will and urge for it again, he needs to.
