Possible Final 16 Max fighters

Saw a list of some of the fighters that may be involved so thought I would post it.

1 Buakaw
2 Souwer
3 Masato (though he has not decided yet if he wants to participate)
4 Kraus
5 Kyshenko
6 Sato
7 Drago
8 Murat Direkci
9 Andre Dida
10 Kohi
11 Leroy Kaestner
12
13 Alviar Lima

First 7 guys are expected but Direkci and Lima could make shit real interesting. And if they put Holzken in that would be even better and if Kaestner can keep up his performance from the Netherlands tournament then this could be real fun to watch.

Aw man, no Yod?

I'd also like to see Holzken. Sucks that there's no Zambidis, or Petrosyan.

Would love for Masato to make one last run.

Yeah, shocking they won't put Yod in.

Zambo most likely will get an invite and maybe if Petrosyan puts in a good performance against Andy he may get in too.

If Masato doesn't fight (bitch move) supposedly they are going to bring Yuya Yamamoto or Jienotsu or do a poll.

I must ask since you are a Masato fan, is it ok if he retires without ever beating Andy or leaving the rubber match with Buakaw still out there?

I'd personally like to see either match, as at this point I know he could take the series against Buakaw. I'd also like to see a 3rd Andy fight, as he was doing pretty good the last time besides the leg kicks.

But I wouldn't cry if he retired, he had a good run.

He would most likely just run through it unless he had a rematch with Andy which would be fun since the first fight was extremely close.

Some more I have found out.

Quote:
1) Tanikawa supposdly is trying to bring some foreigners who are able to beat some of the old vets. He was saying that he hopes there will be 4 faces in the final 8 which are new compared to last year.

Rumored names: (In addition to the above ones)

Holzken, El Hadji, Zhabar Askerov, Petrosyan. Actually as far as El and Zhabar are concerned Tanikawa only spoke about strong fighters from Marocco or UAE. Those 2 names are interpretations.

2)Most of the names I had on my last list are pretty sure to make an appearance. It's not predictions but information. 1-12 definitely in -if they want themselves - and Lima is most likely in.

3) JWP and Yod have not been mentioned as far as I know.

4) Bad news for all the zambidies fans: I heard that tanikawa is thinking about not giving him a space this year. But it's not decided yet.

5) There will be korea max on 20.03.2009, the winner will most likely get a final 16 spot. Participating fighters:

Chi bin Lim, So Hwan Lee, In Jin Chi, ...

There will be a superfight between Garyu and Yong So Choi as well as a women superfight.
If Holzken and Petrosyan get in, nothing can beat MAX, nothing.

Wow, hopefully that'll be Tanikawa's philosophy as well.

Even at the Final 16 there are some ridiculously great match ups in there that could be made and still have great fights later.
