K1 World Max 70kg and Japan 63kg results discussion
I didn't see a thread on this so I decided to make one since it deserves it.
So Nagashima looks like shit again after looking godlike in the 70kg Japan tournament. Either he didn't train or he is a complete headcase who is going to be schizophrenic like this his entire career. If he shows up for the tournament like that he is getting destroyed. Sato is a crisper and more technical kickboxing monster than ever before. I'm going to predict he beats Petrosyan and wins the World Max 70kg this year. As for the 63kg tournament finals. Early fight of the year candidate. As a Kubo fan it was kind of heartbreaking but Yamato is a fairly likable guy and he did KO Saiga which puts him in my good graces. Kubo's Brazilian kick KO was ridiculous and one of the better knockouts this year. |
I had recorded it and just finished watching it tonight. Some really good fights. Except for the reserve match, that was a bit ridiculous. I wish K1 was bigger in the states. It really is a very entertaining sport.

It's too bad though it was a one night tournament, I felt that some of the fighters lost because they were tired by the second and third fights. Seemed like an endurance test. I think that if Yuta had a full tank, he definitely would of won because he was clearly the best fighter there

its been awhile since ive watched but last i remember Sato was around Gago Drago in terms of the MAX peaking order.
Should be Giorgio Petrosyan Andy Souwer Albert Kraus Buakaw Por. Pramuk Artur Kyshenko and perhaps Nieky but anyone after that is canon fodder to the top 5 |

Never count Souwer out.
He isn't done...comm'on. Kraus may have lived his glory days, but Souwer can win the tournament again imo. Kyschenko needs a bit more power in order to stand and bang with Petrosyan. Sato has the skill to stand and bang with Petrosyan, but when he does that, he usually lefts openings in his guard and he gets tagged. I give Buakaw the best chances of beating Petrosyan atm. |
