You can't use broadheads in the UK? That's lame. The above bow can use different limbs to adjust the poundage. I bought 50lb limbs but you can get anything from 30(for bow fishing) to 65 or 70 for deer hunting.

Recurves are much harder to pull back than a compound. The compounds "break over" after you pull it back so far so it's easier to hold and find your target. Recurves are pretty much pull and shoot.

I'm not a 100% sure on it but what I've heard is they are very hard to get a hold of.

Reason being is that you can't hunt in the UK. So if you are caught on public land with them, your screwed. Police will charge you with being in possession of an offensive weapon. Basically you wouldn't have a leg to stand on in court.

Your probably permitted to own them here, just not use them unless they are being used on private land at a distance that is of no harm to the public or animals.

That sounds crazy to us 'muricans.

although, sometimes I think it might be nice if I didn't have to clear the woods of hunters before I let my kids play outside.

Funny you say that, my mother was shot in the leg playing in the woods when she was a kid, it was just an air rifle but the doctors said the slug wasn't doing any harm so they just left it in. She still got it stuck in her leg today.

Love the new avatar btw.

Two most recent...
Overpriced Glock 19 bought off Gunbroker. 800 bucks with freight and ffl charges

Reasonably priced Mini-14 bought from local pawnshop. $824 out the door. They had it priced at $949 plus tax but did some jewing

Could use an Ak in 7.62x39 but will probably stick with the current batch of guns and load up on magazines and ammunition.

Just bought this:

It'll be perfect to throw in the back of my truck and do some quick lake fishing and not have to haul my boat and launch it. Just pick it up drop it in the water and go.

I'll do some modifications on it but I plan to keep it as a row-only craft right now. More than likely I'll add a trolling motor mount and stuff later in the future, but for now I'll stick to rowing the banks of the lake. I love to texas rig soft plastics and toss them in the middle of the lily pads and watch the bass munch, so this thing will work beautifully with minimal effort.
