Aaahhhh...Gotta love a good liberal bias opinion on the Duke case

Don't Feel Too Sorry For The Dukies

Mike Nifong, the North Carolina prosecutor who pursued a case of **** and kidnapping against three Duke University lacrosse players, has been found to have been reckless and deceitful in the discharge of his duties according to the state's attorney general. He abused the power the people of Durham granted him. Based on the public record of what he did in this case, he may well be properly disbarred.

The accuser in this case has been shown to be either a vicious liar or a troubled fantasist.

The three young men who she accused are truly innocent of the charges brought against them according to the North Carolina Attorney General and the investigation led by his office.

But perhaps the outpouring of sympathy for Reade Seligman, Collin Finnerty and David Evans is just a bit misplaced. They got special treatment in the justice system--both negative and positive. The conduct of the lacrosse team of which they were members was not admirable on the night of the incident, to say the least. And there are so many other victims of prosecutorial misconduct in this country who never get the high-priced legal representation and the high-profile, high-minded vindication that it strikes me as just a bit unseemly to heap praise and sympathy on these particular men.

So as we rightly cover the vindication of these young men and focus on the genuine ordeal they have endured, let us also remember a few other things:

They were part of a team that collected $800 to purchase the time of two strippers.

Their team specifically requested at least one white stripper.

During the incident, racial epithets were hurled at the strippers.

Colin Finnerty was charged with assault in Washington, DC, in 2005.

The young men were able to retain a battery of top-flight attorneys, investigators and media strategists.

As students of Duke University or other elite institutions, these young men will get on with their privileged lives. There is a very large cushion under them--the one that softens the blows of life for most of those who go to Duke or similar places, and have connections through family, friends and school to all kinds of prospects for success. They are very differently situated in life from, say, the young women of the Rutgers University women's basketball team.

And, MOST IMPORTANT, there are many, many cases of prosecutorial misconduct across our country every year. The media covers few, if any, of these cases. Most of the victims in these cases are poor or minority Americans--or both. I would hate to say the color of their skin is one reason journalists do not focus on these victims of injustices perpetrated by police and prosecutors, but I am afraid if we ask ourselves the question honestly, we would likely find that it is. Look for a moment at what James Giles endured:

I hope we all keep him and others in mind, as we cover the celebrated exoneration of well-heeled, well-connected, well-publicized young men whose conduct, while not illegal, was not entirely admirable, either. They aren't heroes. They aren't boys. They are young men who were victimized by a reckless prosecutor--and had the resources the fight him off.

All I can say is WOW...

The liberal media is just insane! The liberal media is the one who shoved their cameras and microphones down these innocent guys' faces and proclaimed them as racist rapists everday for over a year only to find out they were completely innocent. And now the liberal media strikes again in their weak and laughable attempts to justify their wrongdoing in crucifying 3 innocent men before any solid evidence was ever brought to the table.

For over a year, we heard about this case every single day everytime we turned on the news. And now that they have been found innocent, only FOXnews is reporting it at a normal and average basis.

This author is a total prick and I hope he suffers a similar injustice himself. To say we shouldn't feel sorry for these guys simply because they are rich and privelaged is ludacris and borderline retarded.

Comparing the Duke case to the Rutger's case is also stupid. The guys at Duke were facing 30 years and a "rapist" brand for the rest of their life over a crime they didn't commit. The Rutger's girls cried because of a statement some old bigot with no ratings said on the radio, which was about 1/4 as bad as the shit being played on MTV 24 hrs a day for the last 10 years. They are nothing alike. But that's typical bullshit liberal rhetoric.

Do any of you agree with his article? Please say no...

But if you do, don't be afraid to speak up. I just wanna know why!

And what is going to happen to the lying s!ut who started this whole thing?? Last I checked she is getting off scott free. What's up with that?

One more thing, I have nothing against being liberal. I shouldn't even say people like this and stations like this are "liberal". A more appropriate term would be "radical liberal", or "Euro-socialist", or maybe "neo-fascist".

hey LUV, i'm working on an article dealign with "liberals" vs "conservatives". when i get it polished, i'll post it... since it seems be both agree that "liberal" isn't really a term that applies to those so biased as to see only party lines rather than reality and truth.

cool...yea...liberal, and conservative have both took a turn. The liberal media and the left wing politicians are bordering on euro-socialism and the "conservative" president is actually liberal, and the conservative media has gone to neo-con. It's just insane how much this has all changed so quickly it seems like.

There's like no one out there with a voice who's just simply liberal or simply conservative (except Michael Savage)

i want to jump in and say that many many lifelong conservatives that I know feel completely betrayed by the extreme and psycho direction the right wing portion of the country is taking. as in . . . . people who voted republican for years & years are now changing parties cuz they feel the current extremism in that regard isn't what they signed on for. what i'm saying is that it's becoming increasingly difficult to define yr. terms in this situation. i definitely feel that there was a violation of the "innocent until proven guilty" concept. also that there was a reverse racism and class prejudice taking place.

I know, lol, that's why I said there are none WITH A VOICE.

Bush is liberal, swptheleg, all of the rational minded conservatives I know say they hate all the republicans because they are too liberal. They are conservative about a few things but for the most part Bush and the republican candidates are all no different than the Democrats in office or running for office. I can't really find a major difference between Giulianni and Clinton. :dunno:
