Wow, sucks to be you guys. Not to sound bad or anything, that's about all I can say. I can't say I totally feel for ya cuz I've never lost any car THAT nice.
WARNING: THIS IS A MONSTROUS POST, IT'S MY STORIES ABOUT 2 OF MY 3 CARS I'VE HAD TO GET RID OF. I THINK YOU WILL FIND IT INTERESTING, ALTHOUGH I COULD BE WRONG. ALSO, I AM HIGH.
I had a 1993 Dodge Dakota (Green, and the best year), It looked real nice and ran great, but I totalled it in a head on collision while jumping railroad tracks in town going the wrong way on a one-way street. I swear on my kid's life every word of that is true. I was really
stupid as a teenager.
After I got my liscense back a year and a half later, I got a 1986 Chevy Monte Carlo SS (305cu 5.0 Liter V8). I got it for $500. It had some nasty looking rust on the underside but I whipped out the naval jelly and cleaned that shit up ghetto style, sanded the whole car down, and painted it with car spray paint you buy from Auto Zone. I went in that store and bought so many ****ing cans of spray paint for that year it's not even funny.
First time I painted it, I painted it all black (used to be maroon), and I stenciled a cool looking skateboard emblem on the hood in yellow. It looked badass hahaha. I loved it, and so did all the other people my age. They thought it was funny cuz it was so ghetto. Eventually the paint started fading so I redid it all. Repainted it black again with silver on the bottom 10 or 12 inches all the way around. I redid my whole interior black and silver, and put in a red strobe light thing that flicks on and off to the bass lol. With red interior lights and a CD player that glowed red. It was a true pimpmobile.
It was fast as shit, fastest car I've ever driven. And it sounded MEAN. The exhaust pipe was rusted so bad, the muffler wasn't working anymore, neither was the catalytic, and it broke off the manifold. So I had literally ZERO exhaust. Lemme just say that thing could be heard for probably a good mile or so. Oh yeah, and instead of getting rims I just bought chrome spray paint and painted them chrome. I also spray painted my air filter unit chrome. LOL. And it also had the $3 chrome exhaust tips too.
Needless to say this thing was a pimpmobile, but it was a complete piece of shit, and constantly unreliable and breaking down. I had a double barrel carb that never closed, a pcv filter that was nonexistant, an alternator that needed replaced every 2 months, a battery cable with a terminal that was 20 years old, no exhaust, little to no brakes, a bad timing chain, bad computer, needed a $400 tuneup every 4 months (although I only ever got 1), and....lemme see...oh yeah NO POWER STEERING...NONE...and the valve gaskets and gasket covers needed changed quite often, and the radiator had pinhole leaks in the lines that I never could fix. I had to pump the gas and turn the key over and over for about 10 minutes before I could start it on cold days or warm days that it sat for more than 8 hours. And my odometer didn't work, and neither did my speedometer. The heat coming from my exhaust manifold melted all the wires. And I changed the starter twice in a year.
....BUT other than all that it was awesome. I loved it. But eventually it just stopped starting, and I got a new car. I let it sit in front of my house on the street for about 9 months, never could get it started. Worked on it everyday for a while in the summer, never could figure it out, neither could anyone else. I wasn't about to take that POS to a shop. So I let it sit. Then 9 months later I figured I'd give her a try just for shits and giggles. Pumped the gas about 8 times and voila it starts right up. I take it up the street and go around the block, and when I get home I look down my street and it's littered with car parts...lol...I knew I didn't have brakes, they got worse since last time I drove it, in fact they basically just weren't there, but they apparently came apart. They looked like ancient artifacts, they were nothing but rust, I'm guessing it's from all the snow we had that winter, it was just chillin there in the snow for like 4 months, and add in the salt from the city trucks and you get a crazy amount of rust.
So I ended up trading the car to my buddy for an Xbox and 10 games (including Halo 2 and Need For Speed Underground 2which were brand spankin new at the time), with controllers, and a remote. There was something else to but I don't remember, nothing big. So I got rid of that piece of shit.
I had another car that gave me a ton of shit but I've done enough storytelling for one day, I doubt anyone actually read this anyway. It's all true if anyone cares.
