Yes, it is a pertinent issue in the MMA world, but all these top level fighters giving their opinion like it's important that they do is foolish.

I believe that they are trying to comment on the issue at hand rather than the person itself.

You may say that Fallon Fox will never make it in the big leagues, but if transexuals are approved to fight in WMMA, then surely that would mean more transexuals will be appearing in the WMMA scene. Who knows, there might be a legit talent amongst them. Then, should they be allowed to fight in the UFC? The women's champion doesn't think it is fair to for females to fight transexuals, should the champion be forced to fight one since transexuals are approved by the commissions and all the regulatory bodies?

It happened like seconds after he commented. Might have been a precautionary measure actually!

The MMA scene is constantly evolving, this may be the next evolution. The commissions exist in part to insure fighter safety and they make informed, science based decisions. If the commissions license a fighter to fight, and they earn a title shot then they absolutely should get the shot. The champion needs to be informed of their past though, so they can adequately prepare.

How can anyone "adequately prepare" for something like that?

Should Ronda be forced or expected to fight a transgender should that person be licensed and work her way up? We have seen champions say no to fights before, but this would be different if being a transgender was the sole reason.

As you know I am open minded and accepting toward all things LGBT, but I don't have any solutions to that problem. All the science in the world won't convince some people. Not only that but I personally feel that it becomes a slippery slope when gender based combat is involved. The commissions need to be absolutely sure that there is no way this person has an advantage, since peoples lives are on the line.

The answer is misleadingly simple. It's easy to "adequately prepare" for a fight like that because it's like preparing for any other female fighter. The commission has licensed them as a female to fight, their body chemistry, chromosomes being the exception, is female. It would be similar to preparing to fight Cyborg, in my eyes, you look at the footage of her previous fights, analyze the style and modify to account for any 'strength bonus' she appears to have.

Whoa now, do you have ovaries? do you have periods? That's a pretty big difference in body chemistry if you ask me...
