BoSox Hit Four Straight Home Runs, Sweep Yankees
The Boston Red Sox hit four straight homers to match a major league record, and finished a satisfying sweep of the New York Yankees Sunday night.
Manny Ramirez, J.D. Drew, Mike Lowell, and Jason Varitek connected in a span of 10 pitches to give Boston a 4-3 lead against Chase Wright, who was making his second major league start.
Boston went on to win the game 7-6, sweeping the weekend series.
Congrats to the Red Sox for sweeping the Yankees in this series. First time they've swept New York at Fenway Park since 1990.
Also, congrats on getting into the MLB history books with the back-to-back-to-back-to-back home runs in the 3rd inning Sunday. That made the Red Sox only the fifth team in major league history, to hit four homers in a row.
Firt time that's happened since my Los Angeles Dodgers did it on Sept. 18 last season, against the San Diego Padres. Yeah, you read that right BigRand...and we're in first place as we speak! :D
So, BIG UPS to the boys from Bean Town on their weekend sweep, and clutch Sunday night performance.
^ BAHAHAHA damn Yankees fan!
Hell yea for the Red Sox, that's awesome. I remember when LA did that shit last year. I thought that was the shit. It happening 2 times in a year is crazy though.
THEY"RE ALL ON THE ROIDS! :cheeky4:
we root for anyone who plays the yankees. during baseball season i wear my tigers cap virtually everywhere I go in public. NYS may be unique in that yankee fans here are so convinced they're invincible superheroes, ie at finish line there's a bunch of yankees gear but if someone is a mets fan they're sol.
NY = no you didn't go to the 2006 world series
It's a loooooooooooong season my friend, and we're not even in May.
The Yanks pitching needs to wake up if they want to contend this year.
