War in Iraq

The democrates are putting forth a bill for troop withdrawal but President Bush had vowed to veto any bill in regards to early troop withdrawal.

I think Bush will keep the troops in Iraq until his term is up. He will leave it up to the next president to withdraw troops. I don't see how withdrawing troops now or later is going to change anything. The big problem with Iraq is sectarian violence, Sunni Muslims killing Shite Muslims and vice versa. When the troops leave, no matter how much the Iraq army is trained, the violence will still be the same.

My question to everyone is how do you stop the violence in Iraq?

the only strategy the Republicans have of getting someone in office again, is to keep the shit going and then blame all the aftermath on the democratic president so they can watch as we get attacked and win the next election. if you don't think the terrorists are just waiting for the dems to have control, just to get America riled up again and make us delve deeper in to the war on terror, you're fooling yourself.

we haven't been attacked because they're waiting for the time they can get us right back into it.

well, I was against the war for the constant lying, the stupid strategy's, carelessness and negligence, just being complete bullshit

but now that youve been there for multiple years, in for a penny in for a pound, send in all your troops, comb that country, capitolize the shit out of it, suck it dry.

i think we need to get out. this war is so much deeper than we can handle. Iraq, right now, is in a state that a foriegn country can not control. we should have never gone in in the first place, and now we are at the point where we need to gradually pull out and look out for our best interest

don't forget that the state Iraq is in, is our fault. sure Saddam was a horrible dictator, but look at the country now!

it's not a simple sitution, but it is very clear.

Sadly I think we messed up the country too much to withdraw now, I don't think we should have been there in the first place. I wouldn't mind a gradual withdraw though. We should help the homeless and starving people in our own country first

Perfectly said. I don't understand why we have to dictate our national policies onto other countries when our country is not doing so good. Our health care system is bad, social security could be nothing when I'm old and gray, school system is failing, we have homeless people who need help, a foster care sytem that is just a revolving door until they turn 18, our prisons are over crowded(I have a solution to this one?), and an unstable economy.

We need to slowly withdraw our troops from Iraq and let them fight it out amongst themeselves, while we take as much oil as we can carry.

it's all because the people running this country only care about bringing Christianity to the world, dambed be the consequences since Jesus is coming anyway. the people running or government actually welcome the apocalypse!!! why fix health care when everyone's going to heaven? why fix the schools when education is the most ardent enemy of religion? why fix the enviornment when we're all going to live in the clouds with god?

all that matters to these people is stopping heathens and making everyone christian!

its the crusades through government!

i seen this on C-SPAN about a month ago. I was ****in excited, until I the thought popped in my head that Bush would Veto this vote. Indeed, a week later , CNN aired a video of Bush announcing his intent to veto this bill. I believe the bill asked for withdrawal of tropps beginning in March of 2008 and the deadline set a feew months after the beginning of the withdrawal. Regardless of a troop withdrawal, there are still about 120,000 mercenairies contracted to battle the opposing forces in Iraq
