Should the US Set a Timetable for Withdrawal From Iraq

Pretty straightforward. Simply give a yes or no, then why. If yes, explain how we should get out...

It's a complex question really.

No, we shouldn't have a timetable. At least not one that they talk about openly to the public, if they have one they better keep it to themselves. The enemy (and yes, we DO have an enemy over there), would love to know when we plan on pulling out. So don't tell them.

I think we should just finish the damn job, not pull out. Pulling out will just make things worse for us over here, we look like pussies. It's not that we don't have the capability to win this war, it's the fact that the people in charge of this war want it to last as long as it possibly can before they get put in prison for it. They're making a shitload of money by dragging it out. We could have ended this war in 3 months. We finished Germany faster than this. If Bush would stop court marshalling our troops and marines for doing their job, and actually treated this as a war, the entire world would have been better off, for the last 4 years. We could end this war in a month from now if we had a better Commander in Chief.

No and the biggest clue is history. The job can be finished and it will. Period end of story.

Yes we should set a timetable. We can't stay over there forever. There has to be a time when the Iraqis need to start working out thier own problems.

I agree for the most part, at least the part about the timetable being secret. I voted we need a timetable but I think it would be very bad if the enemy knew about it.

No. Setting a timetable to get out will just let the terrorist know when to strike. They will hold off on any big attacks until then.

There should be milestones setup for the Iraqi government and the Iraqi forces. Then and only then can we pull out.

the terrorists don't care what we do. they're going to attack us no matter what, when our next president takes office. they're not waiting for us to leave--although that is what they want--but waiting for the right time to drive America back into a frenzy. Us leaving won't do that, especially since that's what they want above all else. If we're not there anymore, their rhetoric loses some power. The region will never be stable, despite anything anyone does. It's all our fault that iraq is in a civil war and the best thing we can do is leave and apologize. perhaps if we had a president who was a human being, that might be possible--though it wouldn't have happened in the first place.

whiskey, racism, money, grease, twinkie's, guns.....yep lol thats about it
