SNL in the 90's Doc

did anyone catch this last night? it was a documentary dealing exclusively with saturday night live in the 90s and early 00s. it's easy to forget some of the sketches that weren't quite as popular as more cowbell or whatever but were still hilarious.

There was nowhere near as much discussion of the blue oyster cult sketch than there should have been. Once again I was left wanting more cowbell. Someone who was in it, i forget who, said that the turning point was Will Ferrell changing to a smaller shirt. so true. that gut gyrating around makes me laugh till I tear up every time.

Oh yeah and that "the drug years" documentary on VH1 ruled. We sat transfixed staring at all the awesome footage of 60s and 70s stoners, bales of uh, herbal supplements coming off planes, etc. not to mention the lengthy rundown of how High Times (the publication) came to be.

<---Big fan of the celebrity jeopardy sketches.

"You can light a fire for a man and he will be warm for a day."
OR
"You can light a man on fire and he'll be warm for a lifetime."

My Top 6
BW = Miguel Torres
LW = Tyson Griffin
WW = GSP
MW = Gegard Mousasi
LHW = Lyota Machida
HW = Fedor

Damn I missed that SNL thing. 90s SNL was my favorite. I hate it now.

I've seen those Drug Years shows like 3 or 4 times now, they never get old.

Watching the early to mid 90s SNL episodes always brings me back to when I was a kid. I used to watch it every day during the summer. They would have it on comedy central everyday for like 3 hours I would never miss a show.

i agree snl is nowhere near as good now as it was in the 90s. I look forward to training further in falling & rolling so I can crash into rows and piles of folding chairs and tables like superstar. i would not emulate superstar's unfortunate wardrobe choices, however.

celebrity jeopardy is on our best of will ferrell dvd - that dvd gets almost as much play as chappelle's show, which is saying a lot. Somebody from snl said Sean Connery was a sport and didn't get pissed off about being portrayed as a total idiot.
