I have more than superficial knowledge on the matter and I'm not saying you shouldn't be against vaccination. What I'm saying is people who don't even know about vaccines or medicine in general shouldn't blindly believe what they hear in the media. If you don't know what a vaccine is and what your body does with it then you shouldn't tell everyone how bad it is. For every study showing vaccines to be evil there are dozens who show the exact opposite. So yeah, there is some evidence that vaccination can go bad but the positive by far outweighs the negative. In the end everyone has to decide for themselves.
And in the case of homeopathy, yes, if you wanna cure an actual disease with homeopathic medicine then you are in fact wrong as there has never been a study that has shown homeopathic medicine to be more effective than a placebo. If people knew about the concepts behind homeopathy and how to prepare homeopathic medicine nobody in their right mind would even consider it.
What are your qualifications on the matter, may I ask?
I was only addessing the vaccines portion of your post, I also think that homeopathy is bunk and too diluted to have even a molecule of it's supposed active elements. Mostly imo it's placebo reinforced by scientific sounding names.
There are plenty of studies for and against vaccines (though I don't consider "studies" funded by the people with vested financial interests to the tune of $100 billion to be neutral) but at the end of the day it's a very personal decision taken by parents for the ones they love the most, and I assure you most don't take it lightly or make random decisions based on a single news snippet.
If anything giving vaccines is the "default" decision taken without any second thought. And the data in every case indicates that all diseases that vaccines claim to eliminate were already going down long before their introduction due to rising standards of nutrition and hygiene (I.e. people got more than a few pennies a day working in coal mines and living ankle deep in human faeces etc.).
There is also no other way to really "test" vaccine effectiveness, one can't ethically try and intentionally expose subjects to a disease to test it now can they? The only thing they measure is a generic antibody count increase after vaccination (thanks in no small part to artificial immune system stimulation using adjuvants) which in no real way indicates actual immunity, and animal testibg is not possible because the diseases are human specific. So the risk:benefit is definitely up for debate.
As an example of being aware of what's in vaccine's here's just one small example, straight from the horse's mouth, the CDC telling you that aluminium is added to vaccines to "illicit stronger immune response" (i.e. put the immune system into unnatural overdrive), then a peer reviewed medical study confirming the link between aluminium in vaccines and Alheimers and Autism:
There's also Formaldehyde (an embalming and preservative agent linked to cancer), Thimerosal (a form of mercury which is a potent neurotoxin http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12773696
) etc. Where is the common sense and logic pumping heavy metals, viruses, and embalming agents into little newborns, who are not even ready for food and water yet, in a vain hypothetical and objectively untestable (but profitable) attempt to "prevent" diseases, which by the way, they may still catch? And why in the world are they in such a hurry to do it at such a young age, before the kids are even to talk or express their pain, even for STDs like Hepatitis-B that they have zero risk of catching at that age? There are no real answers for these questions.
I know a baby that died screaming non stop since his vaccine, and of course this is just a "coincidence" that has happened enough for vaccine manufacturers to pay out over a billion and counting in compensations, but no offense meant, I wouldn't hate or condescend on people having alternative opinons after having seen that. Even aside from the less frequent deaths and autism links, every vaccinated kid has on average 8-10 colds in the first two years, along with multiple ear infections and jaundice etc. This is considered "normal" nowadays, yet my mostly unvacced kid had NONE. Not even a cold yet, even when his vacced parents with "amazing" immunity are sitting next to him sneezing their lungs out. Ever. Knock on wood.
