Observe the mind of a Boxing Enthusiast...

So I got curious (bored) on the MMAforum today, which happens every now and then no biggy. I started checking out some of the links we have and ran into the Boxingforum.

I viewed it as a guest and checked out some of the threads just to see how the mods would respond to the users and vice versa. Same deal, same rules but completely different perspectives of course.

Everyone is entitled to their own oppinions, but it's like seriously being on another planet. If you want to enter the realm for a few minutes, check out this link.

http://www.boxingforum.com/boxing-fo.../1912-ufc.html

Do this as an observer of course, no need for drama. I just want you to feel that dreamy confused state of mind I had felt.
Check out the Mod's (Particularly Bill1234) and the supporter's views on an "MMA Guy" as they respond to Boxing-MMA Liberals.
Kind of an awkward vibe huh?

most act very intolerant to anything other then boxing plus they are also very uneducated about anything other then boxing....good thing "goju-joe" is on that forum though

Mac Danzig and his bird feeder once visited the Virgin Islands. They are now The Islands.
Mac Danzig can kill two fighters with one bird feeder.
Superman owns a pair of Mac Danzig bird feeder pajamas.

Imagine if UFC had a standing 8 count. Imagine if when Chuck got TKO'd by Rampage that they stood Chuck up and counted to eight then said how many fingers am I holding up? Then imagine him getting knocked out again about 10 seconds later.

Imagine the rules changed to boxings. You might see two guys hugging alot. The boxing fans like those in the linked thread are the types who call the ground game gay. But yet the guys willfuling hugging on each other in Boxing are manly.

The old arguement about putting MMA gloves on a Boxer thing is silly too. They both serve purpose for there sports. How is an MMA fighter going to grapple with Boxing gloves? How is a boxer not going to break his hands with MMA gloves?

The linked thread has some guys calling kicks for pussies. The said guy refers this to use in streetfighting and claims to get into a bar room brawl every 3 months. Nuff said about that hero.

Seperate sports for different people. Some like both and some dont. Whatever floats your boats.

What I like about MMA (UFC especially) is the fact that they can use any fighting style or combination thereof including boxing.
When a person is knocked out or unable to defend themselves the fight is stopped. No second chances for victory (or brain damage).
3 five minute rounds. If we cant figure out who won by then then the fighters deserve a draw.

The reason mmaforum has a link to boxing forum is cause no one goes on boxing forums cause no one likes boxing..

I hate those cock suckers that say mma is bad and boxing is better, cause on the street people will kick elbow knee...

Also, what does it mater if you're amazing at boxing and would lose in a fight by submission in 30 seconds..

wow..just wow. was kinda funny that he posted pics of what happens when you get punched(as if we didn't know a punch could break a nose). and i had no idea it would be extremely simple to see a kickboxers kick coming, dodging it and counter-punching for the instant KO. silly me to think there might be an actual technique. i wanna see Crocop vs whatever boxer has the cojones

It was like reading a discussion from a group of people that never had a real fight. Over the years I've seen boxers on tv fight outside the ring, it is usually a punch followed by rolling on the floor, some mma would have come in handy

The majority of them seem to be very narrow minded and in the case of Bill1234, delusional!

boxing, old, MMA, new... progress. people can't let go to tradition, so they resist. anyone with a tenth of a brain can see the evolution between boxing and MMA, and how MMA is safter, requires piles more knowledge, and is just overall a much more complete form of fighting.

but, people have to bash shit they don't understand, it's basically a human instinct to do so.

whiskey, racism, money, grease, twinkie's, guns.....yep lol thats about it

As pt447 said people dont like change, they like to stick with tradition and the thread showcased just signifies this.

Boxing is far more brutal than MMA from my own experience of learning boxing as a kid, the amount of injuries i used to get, compared with learning MMA and managing to come away from each lesson with maybe a few bruises on my legs.

If MMA was traditional in western culture with the rumble in the jungle and the thrilla in manilla being MMA fights, and boxing came along now... the same people ahting on MMA now would be hating on boxing now.

Except boxing wouldnt stand a snow balls chance in hell in surviving if MMA had the tradition. Right now MMAs a better sport and boxing surviving on tradition. If MMA had the tradition and boxing didnt it would be bye bye boxing.
