I have to say Carlin as well, although Chappelle's Killing Em Softly might be the funniest standup show throughout.

Funniest comedian I've seen is this guy tony roberts. Look up Tony Roberts Def Jam on youtube it is the funniest 5 minutes I have ever seen a comic do.

I love(d) Hedburg but I wouldn't consider him one of the greatest. He's one of the best for one-liners though

Both the Andy's on your list are so overrated and unfunny it's....well, it's not even funny.

The problem with Dice is that his act got old and he is'nt creative enough to write new material. It was still very funny and very original during his hayday.

His bits with Opie and Anthony were funnier than anything Howard Stern ever did and I'm a big fan of Howard.

They belong more than Dane Cook, Lewis Black and Bill Maher.

Lewis Black's last 2 shows were o.k. but he was much funnier early in his career. bill Maher is funny but in more of a chuckle quetly at his jokes funny than a lol funny. I do think he should run for pres though.

LOL @ Bill Maher for prez. He's funny but our country would be ruined even more. If that's possible haha.

I guess I just never got into the Andy's. Dice Clay just seems like a giant douche bag to me, and Andy Kauffman I just never saw what was so funny about his act.

You make a good point though Dane Cook and Bill Maher shouldn't be listed as some of the greatest but Lewis Black is the man. His older stuff is a bit better Black on Broadway and the one that's called like Red White and Blue or something are hilarious. Lewis is good at making a character out of himself.

That was part of what makes him funny, that he is a complete sleazball douchebag. literally 1/2 his act was making fun of audiance members, that he doese off the top of his head and that shit was funny.

There are several who are just always amazing, like Carlin, Chris Rock, Chappelle...

But I don't see my new favorite listed on here. John Caparulo... Watch him on Comedy Central Presents. I was pissing my pants I was laughing so hard.

Dave Chapelle, Kevin James, Dane Cook, Stephen Lynch, Mitch Hedburg, Rodney Dangerfield, Dave Attell (more for delivery than material),
