Let me tell you. Everybody and I mean everyone will go through a major transition in life. This is one of em.

You should check out a reddit article on a dude who invested $8k in a small plot of land in South America and built one of the coolest little dome shaped homes including a hammock up top.

This world is built on credit and it's reverting back to a serfdom/fiefdom system. Give out unrealistic mortgage rates then banks snatching it back. Read Niall Ferguson's (British professor at Harvard University) "The Ascent of Money: A Financial History of the World."

Marcus Aurelius: Tell me again, Maximus, why are we here?
Maximus: For the glory of the Empire, sire.

Baked, not fried... the healthy choice.

I also just noticed this thread was my 2000th post.

So you have already achieved that goal then?

I have changed companies 6 times, changed countries 2 times, lived in 6 different cities in 10 different houses since I've got married, so, here go my 2 cents from my up and downs.

Don't set the bars too high. Happiness is closer than you think and can be found every day in every detail, even in troubled time, specially if you have the right person close to you. Happiness is not a life without problems, but sometimes, being blessed by having the ability to deal with these problems. To change jobs and locations is refreshing, but to change the lenses you see the world through are the first step, otherwise, we tend to take our misery everywhere we go. Enough money is important in this planet. More than enough money, not important. I have quit bigger paychecks for better quality in my life without remorse. Once you are sure your dream is definitely feasible to achieve, go for it.

Bro do what you love. I double majored in college and have a masters. I quit med schools because it made me miserable. I'm just a little shy if my Ph.D in human kinetics which I might actually go back and finish but it's not high on my list.

Basically I blew my knee out a year and a half ago so I couldn't train or teach and I realized I ******* hated my job and going to school. So I quit like three weeks after being promoted. I started my own consulting company and it's pretty much the best thing ever. I work every day because I want to and when I don't I just don't. Now that my knee is healed I teach and train when I want and am considering opening my own academy in a few years, mainly because I don't want to do it as a brown belt.

People say **** the grind. No **** other people's grind. You have to find your own and embrace that. The nine to five is a man made thing. We don't have to do that and we do it to make money to buy things we don't care about. You can't be successful doing something you hate. It doesn't matter how much money you make.
