Aren't Sharks and Crocodiles considered to be modern-day dinosaurs?

Dinosaurs are cool. I always wondered if some of them had intelligence. Like how do we know that they were just a bunch of dumb lumbering giant animals? Can we really tell how intelligent they were by looking at their skeletons?

How long ago did dinosaurs rule the earth anyway? I always forget the number. Something like 65 billion years ago, right? That's a long ****in time ago if I got that right. Even 65 million, would be a long ****in time ago. That's just crazy to think about.

Compared to how long we've ruled, yaeh, it's a long ass time. Hundreds of times longer.

We can say how big their brains were by looking at their skulls.

Yea, that's true. Big brain doesn't neccessarily mean high intelligence though.

lol wouldn't evolution make it bigger and better? Also, I thought all of the dinosaurs were supposedly wiped out after whatever event took place(meteor?) I don't know, thats what I thought

Crocodiles were much bigger then they are now a long time ago.

This is possible but i would have to read and see scientific evidence before i beleived this but evolution means that this can happen. Evolution is a crazy thing. It is said that we evolved from single cell organisms that lived in the ocean a few billion years ago so the evolutionary changes between single cell organisms and humans is much smaller then what pt447 said.

WL2FU, I am not sure about Sharks but Crocodiles are indeed dinosaurs. The Giant Crocodile(Sarcosuchus Imperator) was around 40 feet and lived approx 100 million years ago and they weighed around 10 tons. There is another ancient species of crocodile that has a head similar to a T-Rex's head.

Sarcosuchus Imperator
