I have always felt like we would do ok whenever Haren was pitching. I just wish you know...that he would shave every once in a while...

For sure. I guess I shouldn't be so hard on Oakland. They've got some prospects. Mark Ellis is solid, Chavez is still very consistent, OH...and I forgot about Kotsay. He's a good player as well. So, I was wrong in calling them a sub-par squad. They're consistent, just not elite - YET. They begin strong each year, then slowly fade, until the last 1/3 of the season, when they usually let the Angels RUN AWAY with the division.

We'll see what the '08 season brings for the boys in green & black.

Man do I dislike the Angels! Every year: "Angels looking to dominate the West!" "Angels have once again destroyed their division opponents."

Well, all I care about is that we beat them in the final game of the season! That sent them into Boston where they got destroyed.

the yanks need some meat in the bullpen. their pitching will be fine if pettite comes back, as Hughes has more than proved himsel, Joba doesn't even have to qualify, and then you have moose and wang.

the a-rod situation. this is a touchy subject. i look it like this, if it had happened any other way, like every other free-agency deal--yeah, he opted out, just listen--nobody would have cared. people choose to fish around all the time, like Jorge did, and Mo, see?

but, you have to realize, athletes pay their agents a lot of money to make decisions for them. a-rod has had his agent since he was 16 years old, and has made him the highest played athlete in the world!!

he listened to some horrible advice, adn when he realized that it was effecting how people thought of him, he immidialtly contacted the yanks and began talks on how to fix things. then he goes and signs a 10-year deal? to me that says he's ready to be a yanke till he retires, and ready to go into the hall of fame for all the records he's going to break as a yankee!

he's proven, to me at least, that he wants to be in NY. he righted the wrong he did, which was based on a greedy agents bullshit.

now, on to fun stuff... who can't wait till Joba starts his first game in yankee stadium???

oh, and i wanna thank the mod who changed this thread to something more official!

What happens to Mathews Jr. now? He signed a long deal a while back, and Anderson and Guerrero ain't leaving the field.

Baseball is in need of some kind of financial change. Some teams can win with the low pay roll, but the second those stars come up for a new deal they're gone. The Marlins, Twins and A's are always the victim of this.

Everybody knows why mags is such a great hitter right?

mullet power!!!

I realize he's Venezuelan, but the temptation to refer to it as a mexi-mullet is very great.
