range and cost are a product of advancement and commitment by the makers, nothing else. like i said, it will come. might not be perfected now. and as for $5 a gallon, that's insane... and i don't care what you say, in the States, people have a much shorter temper than in the UK. in any event, it will be demand by consumer that helps drive change... like it should be. now, with all products, its the supplier telling the consumer what they want, not the other way around. that's what's wrong with our current form of capitalism. the market isn't driving the economy, greedy corporations that are telling us what to buy is what's doing that!

whiskey, racism, money, grease, twinkie's, guns.....yep lol thats about it

It takes more energy to manufacture a hybrid car, than it saves.

Yea I'm all for saving energy why not it can only help right, but it's pretty stupid when it takes more energy to make something than it saves. When they fix that I'll be in line for the Prius.

I'm still a bit drunk and wired so I won't be able to phrase my reply properly but you're wrong.
I'll tell you why later.

I'm not interested in hybrids when it comes to fuel economy my '03 jag gets about 22-24 mpg on the highway. Besides I keep the earth clean by not littering and recycling i don't need to drive a hybrid to do my part.

I don't see how it is a horrible attitude. I do my part for the environment and i don't need to drive a hybrid to show that. I don't litter and I recycle but just because i don't take things to an extreme doesn't make me any less concerned then anyone else. What else would you expect me to do, chain myself to trees and tamper with logging equipment?

I agree, if Al Gore can have a private jet, an Escalade, and a 10,000 square foot house....you're allowed to have a Jaguar.
