hybrid cars Stupid idea dont buy

I dont know it any of you are buying hybrid cars but this is someting thats good to know. Hybrid cars are stupid!

People that are buying hybrid cars for fule economy. your car cost so much money that you probably wont make up for the cost of your car in gass milage. your better off buying a regular car.

Environmentalist! It is so harmfull to the environment to make a hybrid car that its better for the environment to drive a gass guzzling SUV then drive a hybrid car. The car wont make up for the manufacturing of of the car.

so even though its a good thought its not helping the environment

they have cars now that emit nothing but water vapor!!!

and you are right, they don't use as much gas, but you're still getting all the shit from the manufacturing, plus all the chemicals and waste and shipping involved in the car... but, it's a start. of course they're not perfected yet, and they're still a "luxury"--which is hypocritically odd--but they will get better/cheaper over time. especially when people are officially sick of paying $5 for a gallon of gas and everyone stops buying new cars.

this is the only way the oil industry will become curbed. when the car companies stop their little hand shake agreement to only push gas guzzlers. when the car companies need to make money from a decade of almost no sales, they'll abandon the oil companies and start marketing cars with the technology they've had for years, because people will be demanding it hard enough!

whiskey, racism, money, grease, twinkie's, guns.....yep lol thats about it

There has been scientific evidence that driving those cars does not make up for the manufacturing.

No there hasn't. There have been bullshit reports put out by people with an interest in selling more oil.

Either way, I prefer turbo diesels to hybrids.

there's no excuse for all cars not to be fully electric. none. it's all about the oil. that's why what i said about consumer driven changes in the auto industry will begin to hinder the demand for oil as a fuel. it might take a while, but i don't see people putting up with $5 a gallon gas for too long. either the demand thing will happen, or some politician/president will have the balls to pass a law demanding the immidiate increase in fully electric cars.

and despite the anti-big government morons, there are times when government can function as intented to best protect the citizens of this country. they should be pushing for stuff like that.

Other than range and cost.

As for people not putting up with $5/gallon, we've been paying more than that in the UK for ages.

I'm actually going to be buying a hybrid very soon, probably in January. Either a Prius or an accord hybrid.

the prius is only $300 a month which isn't bad, drives good, nice interior, fantastic gas mileage and I can also drive in the SUV lane because it's a fuel efficiant car, they also cost less to mantain and you get a tax credit.

I don't buy the "scientific reaserch" that says that they are worse, i don't see how they can be any more harmful to build than a regular car. Sounds like propaganda from the oil companies to me.

Remember a few years back, when the Tobacco co's realesed scientific studies that cigarretes aren't harmful and don't cause cancer. I'm chalking this up as the same thing.

well in US for instance first to creat the battery you have to do the mining for the nickel then you have to transport it in Trucks or planes down and back sometimes all the way from Canada and then there is the waste from the factories. It doesnt take much sicentific reserch to get an idea of how much waste there is. and thats the battery alone.
