WOW alot of generalizations. Religion is probably one of the most volatile topics out there. It ranks right up there with racism and politics. Basically the reasons I stay away from these threads.
However I cannot sit here and read this while it seems as though everyone is bashing Christianity.
Everyone in the world has their own beliefs. Everyone has that right. Well at least they do in the US. I don't think you can lump all Christians together with a group of christian extremists that want to ban a book. It would be like saying all muslims are terrorists. Both are equally ignorant observations and statements.
Religion for the most part is an integral part of every society whether you want to believe it or not. It is pretty well documented that children that are actively involved in their churches regardless of denomination or faith are more stable, well adjusted adn less likely to get in trouble in school or with the law.
If you don't like church don't go. You are always welcome but we are not begging for you to come but don't bash all of us. The vast majority are not extremists.
For the record my church has no problems with Harry Potter and actually encourages the kids to read.
"Casualties many; Percentage of dead not known; Combat efficiency; we are winning."
