Bummer, the horse could not do it. Hopefully there was not an injury.

6 horse took it, Belmont is a tough track, that 1 1/2 miles is tough especially after racing in 2 major races so close together.

That a horse has won the Triple Crown(Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes)- the last was Affirmed in 1978.

There hasn't been a triple crown winner in 30 years. The triple crown is 3 horse races that spans about 3 months, The Kentucky Derby, The Preakness and The Belmont Stakes. It's the biggest Horse Racing Event of the year and one of the hardest titles to win in all sports.

I didn't make it to the Stakes this year, but I have been to at least a dozen Belmont Stakes' and 3 Breeders Cups.

OK. It's embarrassing how little I know about horse racing, considering my family has a party at Santa Anita every year. And my uncle used to train horses and now owns a horse transportation business.

the ppl up the road from us board horses and ppl frequently ride by and sometimes we run out with apples and then I get up close to the horse and kind of wig out inside b/c I forget how big they are up close. If I had time for riding lessons I'd do it in a heartbeat. i have seen beautiful arabians, friesians, quarter horses etc.

I can't ride this summer with my broken leg and torn rotator but normally I ride/train all summer. Quarter Horses all the way! I had a retired race horse a few years back-- they are athletes but not relaxing to ride, crazy and high strung.
