McCain just lost the Election

First of all, I thought Obama's speech was epic. One of the best in recent memory.

How does McCain respond? He adds on a former beauty queen and mayor of 9,000 to be his VP.

Lets analyze that.

McCain says America doesn't need some celebrety eye candy. He adds on a Beauty Queen.

McCain says he needs someone with experiance. So he adds on a woman with 20 months of experiance to her name.

What was he smoking? Is he trying to get a Hillary out of this?! Can someone please tell me WHY you would do this?

Its just a reminder of why I hate politics. They say one thing and they'll do another.

You forget that this isn't just some brutal sport where everyones out to kill each other. Its much more like a game of physical chess.-looney liam

How? To try to further push over his "Maverick" status with a woman VP? Or in a more general term, a younger woman with very little experiance and heart full of femminism. He is contradicting everything he stands for!

I've asked many Obama supporters and nobody can answer this question so maybe someone here can... how can a person who has spent more time campaigning for the presidency then he has spent being a U.S. senator truely be qualified to run our country?

Long story short MJ, they aren't.

Obama isn't qualified and probably never will be. At least, not to run this country. However, he is quite qualified to run Russia, Cuba, or China. I see his policies going over much more smoothly over there.

I don't understand? He was elected into the Senate in 1996.

Or do you mean for U.S. Senate? If so he's been in Senate since 04-05. Then announced his canidancy in 07. His one year anniversary was a little while ago. He spent about 2-3 years in the US Senate, which isn't that bad. On a average time scale that is pretty long.

But there is no comparison between him and McCain's VP. Here is Sarah's history in politics:

She became Govenor in the end of 2006 (She basically didn't even start doing anything till 2007). Before that she was mayor and was on a bunch of councils. But don't worry she is republican enough! She helps the oil companies as much as possible!

Further, there is a lot of speculation that McCain might pass away in office (He has already suffered from cancer). Now, if that were to happen, who would you want in Office. A President who has never been involved in ANYTHING outside of her state. Or a president who has been involved in the countries senate, AND has already shown a hint of his cabinent being involved in both foreign affairs, and a lot of experiance (Biden)

Would you rather take a step closer to being in a Christian Fundementalism where if you don't believe in the Church you will be killed?

Or how about being scared untill you trust the government in every aspect of their descision, to apoint where you give up your child be tested on wether they should be allowed to go to school, or go straight to work?

Seeing as how neither of those unlikely scenarios have presented themself, do I really need to answer. I would just exercise that part of the Declaration of Independence that says to overtake the government when it gets to that point.

McCain has rarely used religion as a medium and no one has ever been put into office that shares the belief that it is "Christianity or death". Especially not among his constituents.

I don't have any kids either, so I can't speculate, but I will never trust the government.

Less government the better. Obama has the complete opposite views.

obama's one term in the united states senate and 50% throw away votes doesn't qualify him to be president.

I'd much prefer a VP who is in over her head and probably knows it than a president who really has no idea what he's doing but believes himself to be the second coming of jesus.

ohh yeah I should probably go away from these political threads again. I don't know why I keep getting sucked in.
